Im suprised they are trying it again so soon after the SLR didn't perform or sell as well as expected.

 

How much of a hand did McLaren have on this one?

Is it just me or is the styling trend for headlights becoming like the styling trend for grills? The larger and flashier looking the better?

Not that I mind - I enjoy seeing artistic creativity in headlight design.

 

Threxx I would say a lot of a hand in that.

 

Seems Cien-ish in the front proportions. Atleast that's what I thought as soon as I looked at it.

 

It looks too big for a supercar and the headlights ruin it completely.

 

Rumor has it that the platform that thing is on will be shared with the next-gen Viper, the Chrysler Firepower, and the Chrysler ME Four Twelve (if it is greenlighted -- the others are supposedly definite, but the Four Twelve isn't yet). Apparently the platform can accomodate front- or mid-engined layouts.

 

Looks kind of like the ME 412 to me, which is a good thing. That and the Cien were some bad *** looking cars!

Looks like they're trying to style it like the Gallardo to me. I've noticed many auto makers giving their cars the Aston Martin look too. The Maseratis are turning that way, there was a new Jaguar XK looks basically identical to an Aston Martin...get some original ideas once in a while guys. The last thing I want to see is exotic cars to all look alike now.

 

the aston martin and xk were designed by the same guy.

 

Ian Callum(sp?) designed the Aston Martin Vanquish and the new XK.

I thought McLaren and Mercedes were severing ties? Maybe it was just Gordon Murray severing ties with McLaren.
