I REALLY want to see a full-hybrid Kappa eventually. With that relatively light chassis and its handling abilities, it'd make for one heck of a performance vehicle while staying in the green zone at the same time. I wonder if they could turbo & electric assist it??
250HP + 50 MPG. Yes, please.

Re: New Kappas on the backburner...
Quite sad. Did GM even consider why those 2 nieche vehicles sold poorly?
One (The SSR) is plain overpriced and underpowered (not underpowered now, but still overpriced and ugly to some) and the other is still a premium 30+k car that looked bland to the majority of the public and was initially overpriced due to markups. Their poor sales have no bearing on the very attractive and sporty $20-25k Kappa. For starters, the Kappa's aren't overpriced, their styling certainly isn't bland, and the base (for the time being atleast) 170 ecotec isn't underpowered in a relatively light 2800lb body. In excells in all the areas and reasons the SSR and GTO failed in...but GM's stupid beancounters and marketing division hgas their facts all screwed up
. And they have the audacity to label the Kappa line as "money losing". No ****, you'll lose money unless you expand on the platform and build as many variants as possible to boost Kappa volume.

They ignore why the two other vehicles didn't sell.
Btw: you really don't have to be a car enthusiast to enjoy and want a sporty, stylish, and fun to drive automobile regardless of it beeing a wagon, minivan, truck, roadster, econo-hatch, sports-car, etc.... . GM does NOT have a sports wagon in the chevy/pontiac/Saturn camp and their only real option is a rebadged WRX sold as a Saab. This same problem is evident in the Ford camp.
You can have a stylish, sporty, affordable, practical, and fun to drive car. Contrary to popular believe, a car can be stylish, practical, and fun to drive. You don't have to settle for one or the other. Some fail to recognize that.
