Re: New GM cars revealed on 60 Minutes now!

I watched a snippit that is available on cbs.com, and I missed the TV show...

Car looks good. The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the way the grille was sort of made to have a bit of the Audi/VW/Ford Explorer look to it... but it was pretty subtle in an otherwise very experessive front clip.

The dash/interior did look awesome! It looked "cool" the way it flowed like the B9 Tribeca, but not overtly "wierd" like the Tribeca...

So far, I am excited about this car.

That interior was awesome. Come 2009 it is going to be hard for me to pick from the new Camaro, GTO, and CTS. It will be a nice change though to have so many hot RWD GM cars to pick from that I can't decide.

I feel like clapping. Unless looks are deceiving from those screen caps, that appears to be interior #2 that GM has made that's actually competetive within its class. Interior #1 being the GMT-900 truck/SUV interior (I'll count that as one because, let's be honest, it's 90% identical across the board..)

That was the first thing I noticed too. It too bad, because with their A&S theme Caddy had successfully developed their own original design direction that others have been trying to copy. So why start copying someone else now? Especially with such a questionable design element as Audi's horse collar. Also, I think the detailing of the headlights are a little over the top. (Disclaimer: I think the current CTS is among the best looking sedans in the world, so it's probably tough to live up to my expectations.)

As to the interior, it's a definite improvement. The current CTS interior tends to polarize people (most hate it, but it's won awards). After some time to ponder it I can appreciate the direction they were taking, but the execution fell short.

the grille was one of the most distinguishing factors, imo. it is good to have a front end that is so polarizing, so defined. I love the car. It looks amazing so far. I loved the way the windshield swept back, reminded of a Sixteen underneath the covers.
