New Ford commercial with GT, Mustang, Cobra!?!?
I admit that the new Chevy commercial is AWESOME. I first saw it new years eve about 9pm, and new it was going to be a hit.
Well, we all know that the Mustang won't be officially in the showroom for 8 months so there's no need in ads just yet, but this video has GOT to be in the foray somewhere.
I predict this video will be Ford's answer to the "Chevy Revolution" commercial we have all seen now.
Enjoy... Linky
(dial-ups beware... 1.5MB)

There was a thread a year or so ago in which Red Planet and I conversed about the LAME domestic ads versus the ballsy import ads.
Examples include the Vette doing 3mph in a parade and the guy says,"This is wrong on so many levels.", there is a Mustang doing 35 through a straight country backroad, The Impy SS commercial where the guy freaks out because a Caprice Cop Car comes up behind him but he's doing the speed limit... and so on.
Compare those lame ads to the ones from the Imports like where the Camry flys through a downtown intersection 4 feet in the air - A CAMRY of all things - a family-buggy! The Maxima commercial where it does a reversed 270 spin coming to a stop at the end of the commercial. The Altima commercial doing the same. A commercial for the Mazda 6 doing a huge powerslide in a lakebed. All these ads have the cars doing hyperactive moves, while the domestic ads show cars sitting still, or driving placably lame.
The discussion Scott and I carried out dealt with how disclaimers and even lawsuits had stopped the domestics from running wild ads. Maybe we have finally grown up a bit! I find myself getting glued to the tube when these new commercials come on now. I have yet to turn away from one of the new Chevy commercials.
Lawsuits or not, I hope the domestic makers see that performance cars will get more hype and attention if they are "demonstrated", especially with the younger half of our population!
to Chevy for the Revolution ad!
Now - c'mon Ford - let's grow bigguns and join the party too!
