It looks good, except for the 4 spoke wheels.

Very nice drawing, though too 'retro' for me. I hope we won't see anything retro from the Camaro family.

Proportions look ok to me, the front looks not quite right, a little sport compact looking and a little busy too. The rear is ok, kinda plain.

And the first drawing at the top, while not bad, it is also way too "retro" for me as well...I'm being honest, if the next Camaro turns out to be retro-ish, I will NOT be buying one. PERIOD. I'll seriously go straight to the C6 (which I'm already thinking about)! But if I really want a 1st gen or something 1st gen like, I'll go out and get myself the "original." But I loved the styling of the 4th gen and want to see this car continue to evolutionize into something more modern, yet something that stands out from the rest of the crowd on the street as a Camaro should...

I hope GM is listening...

I understand what you are saying, and agree with a great deal of it, but threatening to buy a more expensive, still GM product, C6 instead if the Camaro doesn't come out as you want might not be the best incentive for GM to do it your way...

Re: New 5th Gen Camaro pic

I hate the fender flares extended into the body like that. Its very WS6 looking. I wish people would do a concept with the 18" wheels the car is going to have and stop putting dubbs on all their pictures. Point in case is the new Mustang. That thing screams " i need bigger wheels!"

The car in the 2nd picture is hideous. It looks exactly like a 90's saturn with a body kit.

Very true Darth Xed...The worse thing any of us can do at this point is "assume" things will be a certain way with the next generation Camaro...But it's hard not to after seeing many of these drawings/concepts (yeah, I know that's all they are!) and after what happened with the styling (or lack thereof ) of the Pontiac GTO recently...

I only mentioned the new C6 because I generally like the idea of owning a much more refined sports car in a few years (it just so happens to be made by GM too ). I'm going to go against most here and say that I'm not looking for a peice of art or perfection with a future Camaro...I just want something for $30,000 or less than looks killer, has a nice powerplant under the hood (hopefully the LS2), and sounds/feels the way a muscle car should on our streets...I personally could care less if the interior is "first-class" or not or if a squeak or rattle eventually develops (never really bothered me with the 4th gens and I would be buying a 5th with the same purpose in mind). To me, a Camaro (V8 version) is what it is: A sharp-looking road rocket that screams performance at a good price with not much else. Unfortunately, that is what really helped lead to it's demise and a reason why so many people want to change so many things about it (both V6 & V8). I'm all for improving upon things as modernization should generally do that, but I also hope any future Camaro always stays true to its theme.

Hey, I actually loved the 4th gens and wouldn't change a thing about them, but it's easy to see why I would be in the minority here...

Let's see. You either scanned that from an old PHR article from 5 months ago, or you got that from Cheersandgears.com from about 7 or 8 months ago, or you got that from one of the dozen or so threads on this site that have posted or linked that picture the past number of months.

No matter which it is, we've seen it plenty of times before for more than the past half year.

*The B-pillars aft don't match the design from the pillars forward. While the front looks undoubtedly sporty & modern, the aft section looks like more of an economy car (probally due to that empty expanse of sheetmetal of the rear quarter panels.

*The side scoops distract from the rest of the car. I would say tone them down a bit.

*Finally, Front and rear wheel arches need to match or be very similar. When they don't match, the car always has the feeling of being designed by separate entities or else ends up looking visually overweight in the back.

* Overall proportions are excellent, but do something with the rear profile. It looks too much like a hatchback.

Here's my $.02:

  • "Hood scoop" looks like the new C6 Z06 picture
  • Side vent also looks like it's C6 inspired
  • Tail-lights look light those on our '73.....love 'em!
  • Side profile has a '99-'04 Mustang meets '04 GTO look to it

Whether I love the overall look of that car or not (I think I could deal with it) it looks like something GM could/would put on the market. As a whole, it really seems to resemble the profile of the GTO, so that's probably what it could look like?
