Looks kind of awkward, but so did the Crossfire which looked decent in person. Hopefully they'll put some more power in it.

Thumbs up

Though it takes awhile to get used to, I think it has the potential of being a sort of neo-classic if it had the Magnum V8.

A few years ago Chrysler/Dodge built some nice looking cars. These days, everything has the shape of an egg on wheels (Intrepid, 300M) or has odd proportions like this Crossfire, not to mention our favorite "corporate styling run amuck" with the crosshair grills. Besides maybe the Stratus I'm not too wild about their car offerings.

Seems like B.L. wants to do that BS to us now.

You may not believe this, but it's very likely that this is the theme for the next Sebring sedan (2005).

It also seems the Avenger concept was a preview of the next Stratus. This according to www.car-truck.com, which has usually been so close to accurate, I sometimes wonder if an insider is running the site.

According to them, both will be offered in AWD & RWD & will be powered by the 3.5 V6. Seems like Grand Am competition to me.

The Dodge Magnum was a giant, bloated vehicles. I thought with the 300M it would take a more graceful, less tankly look. I was wrong. That thing looks like it weights 4000+lbs. I like the new Chrysler front ends, but this car looks like a pig.

The absence of Lutz's influence and guidance at DCX is showing... I haven't seen a single concept in the past couple of years I have liked, except possibly the Charger. Everything else including this latest pic is crack cocaine and nothing more. gt

Suddenly, Chrysler's switch to RWD is becoming clearer. The volumes for the big LX cars didn't seem to justify the major retooling effort, but throw in the mid-sized line and it all makes sense. It reminds me of the late-70s at GM, when the A and B-bodies were very similar in chassis design.

There again, the RWD transformation at Chrysler strikes me as a move upmarket. It'll be interesting to see if they can pull it off.

Chrysler's stated goal is to move upscale. Dodge-Chrysler is supposed to become like Toyota-Lexus, Honda-Acura, Nissan-Infinity and so on.
