New 2007 V8 Supercar Holden
Err, actually its becoming every bit like NASCAR (unfortunately). That body is essentially a VZ racer with VE styling changes. It's a long story but to cut it short, Ford blocked Holden's attempt to field a VE chassis in next year's series as it was deemed the VE chassis would be superior to Ford's BA.
Btw, Falcon's platform hasn't changed significantly since the 60s.

Holden (and that ******** Larry Perkins) by FAAAR have been the ones to bitch over the past 13 years regarding fairness crap.
You forget the extra weight added to the EB Falcon in '93 and later mods to the aero and heaps of other stuff to slow the Falcons down because the Holden 304 didnt have enough grunt
. If V8 super cars is turning into Nascar then Holden played a major role in that. Why is Holden using 9 inch diffs, Chev engines now with Windsor style heads... When has a production Commodore ever had a 5l Chevy engine?
Why should Ford give Holden a break after all the crap they have copped over the years.
Falcon's platform hasn't changed significantly since the 60s?!?!? you have no idea...
Oh and back when touring car racing was the real deal in the late 60's early 70's with real cars Ford destroyed Holden at bathurst...
XR GT
GTHO Phase II
GTHO Phase III
XA GT RPO-83
the only time Ford failed (XT GT & GTHO I) was because of stuff ups.
so scared were Holden of the mighty 351 clevo they abanded any hope of competeing with their 350sbc Monaro and had to switch to a inline 6 little ****box "muscle car" called Torana...
rubbish...

And so nice of you to give your 2c.
If you want to turn this thread into into a Holden (GM) vs Ford flamefest, spanning the last 40 years... please continue, I don't doubt you'll be shot down in a hurry.
I will respond to your err comments when you get your facts straight and not respond purely on emotion. A word of warning, however, I have some counter arguments prepared should you fail to do your homework properly.

To dignify your post somewhat, V8Supercars is a parity formula, not an homologation formula. The formula started out basing the racers on respective road car specs but since the racers were so far removed from the actual road cars there was no point continuing to enforce a different set of rules for one make as for the other (i.e. Holden had the supposedly inferior strut type front end compared to Ford's double A-arm yet Holden dominated races, then there was the aero argument, etc...). The strut on the Holden was different to that on the racers as was the double A-arm different to the Ford racers. Since Holden dedicate more money to motorsport than Ford Oz, it's a safe bet that Ford will pull out of motorsport should they not have Falcon on even winning terms as Holden. The parity formula exist today as project blueprint because Ford (actually, Geoff Polites) threatened to pull out of V8Supercars.
That 9" diff argument is on old argument (yawn) and really doesn't hold any merit in any discussion today. There's stronger diffs out there (Dana) for racing purposes... but I digress.
Boring reading for most here, I'm sure.

well, V8 Supercar was designed from the ground up to be a parity formula.
the rules were pretty strict about what was allowed to be done to the cars - and in fact, neither the Ford nor Holden versions use a single part that would bolt on to a production car. not even the panels or the glass.
the VE issue isn't that the Ford would have been slower, but that the car was too long to meet the guidelines. they are developing a common chassis for both ford and holden to use, so in the future it will be a silhouette formula.
