Maybe it can outrun it's own ugliness?

 

I kind of like it, not becasue I'm a big ricer, but becasue its differant. I'm so sick of seeing the same cars over and over again. My biggest complaint would be 4x4 look. It reminds me of the AMC Eagal off road station wagons.

 

It would need at least 600HP to outrun its own ugliness


Considering that the Eclipse is Mitsu's best selling car, I think they might as well shutdown North American operations now.

 

Well at least they took a risk with the styling. I don't care for it, but I don't think its ugly. The roof line reminds me of the 1990's Turbo Eclipse and Eagle Talon.

 

The styling of most all their cars is "risky"...have you seen the Galant...and other SUV's they sell?

Their not risky because they have great-visionary-designers, they're risky because their designers suck.

 

It definately has potential. Needs about a 2" drop and a spoiler. Any word on an AWD version?

 

The front looks like the redesigned Cavalier that just got axed.

Will they offer AWD, or just FWD? The Eclipse of the 90s built its reputation on turbo AWD.

 

260 hp V6...probably a hopped up 3.8L--thats pretty good.

Unfortunately no amount of hp can out run its ugliness!

The only good looking car they have is the Ralliart

 

hopefully this can help pull the company up. no matter what country, i hate to see a company go out of business.

You can tell there definately trying to play into the huge popularity they had with the 2nd gen DSM's . The rear 3/4 view looks like a warmed over 95-99 . I don't think Mitsu will ever be as popular with the eclipse again as they were with the gen 1 and gen 2 cars . JMO , they lost what made this car cool when they brought out the gen 3 and looks like their continuing with the 4th gen .

 

They lost what made that car cool when they dropped the Turbo and AWD models in favor of a nutless V6 fwd secretary's car.
