Thumbs up More talk of upcoming GM RWD conecpt cars!

Reuss added that GM will introduce several small and mid-sized rwd concepts at next year's Detroit auto show that could share a platform. He spoke Thursday, June 20, at a preview for GM's 2003 vehicles in Milan, Mich.

I like the "Several small and mid-sized" thing... one of these has to be a Camaro...

Wow this is the best "cars news" I’ve heard all day expect for an hour ago when I realized I didn’t blow my motor up going down the freeway, just my #2 cylinders spark plug worked its way out of the block. It cause a loud pop a lot of noise and vibration, but I found the problem, the sparkplug and its all good now. ahhhhh, what a day.........

Well, it says "GM" , so it could be any division...

If you just go from cars from the past and present (ie. no new names), we have some of the following as possibilities:

Camaro
Firebird
Nova
Monte Carlo
Impala
Fiero
Corvette
Regal
Caprice
Maybe the CTSi will be there?

There's a ton more, but I've had a few Sam Adam's Creamy Stouts... so I'm a big foggy!

Hmm...
Well these I bet will be there:
C6
GTO
The Chevy skinned WRX
CTSi
Caddy SUV's
Probably a concept CTS with maybe a hatchback or something. Or a AWD version or something. There's a lot to be spawned from CTS.
The new Buick SUV
Solstice
Possible the new Cavalier
etc

Honestly, I think that fills the list with whats going to be built and will be there. I'm not counting on a Camaro.

I think certainly something that can share a platform with Solstice.

....maybe even another shot at a truck based car like the BelAir.

This is the one that most interests me. Will it be a peek at the next Monte Carlo? GM officials are on record wanting a RWD Monte...but that was last year.

More recently, they've expressed interest in spinning off cheap RWD "cars" based on the Colorado platform.
Fair enough....I hope they are not losers like the BelAir was!

If indeed a Camaro were to be shown next year [looks out window, sees pigs flying], when is the earliest it could hit the showroom floors?
