Is it more fun to drive a slow-car fast or a fast-car slow?

Of course driving a fast-car fast is the best of all

Agreed...my Grand Am GT isn't an overly slow car, but its no Camaro. And I have way more fun driving my Z28 slow than my Grand Am quick!

I agree way more fun to drive a fast car slow than vice versa.I think we are the minority here, cus I see lots of younger guys n girls drivin' alot of slow cars fast, Oh and they do think their fast until we roll up on their slow asses. Ha Ha !

Definitely a slow car fast. Miatas or 240SXs are a blast to fling around a road that an f-body wouldn't even break a sweat on. What fun is poking along in something that doesn't even try your skills?

Most performance cars are so good today that you have to drive them so fast to even to start to push their limits. This is the problem because most people are never in a situation to push the limits of their car and test their own driving skills and when those rare occasion confront the driver (usually in a panic situtation when someone cuts them off or pulls out in front of them) they are unprepared since they have never been tested and/or trained.

So many cars today are so fast and so refined are just plain boring to drive because they require so little skill from the driver. If you ever want to know how good of a driver you are get rid of your performance tires and get some cheap-o all-season non-perfromance tires and watch how easy it is to burn out and screach around the corners.

New tire technology has giving many the false impression that they are actually good drivers.

The one reason why I love my 94 Z28 is that it is a crude and rough around the edges.

I find the f-body rather stable on the edge, in stock form the rear can become quite unsettled at times, but you can feel the limit being approached.

I don't think it has to do with tire technology, it has to do with the fact that a lot of people nowadays just jump into driving... they've had no long term experience prior to drivers ed... I myself have been driving go-karts and ATV's since I was 4, so driving came pretty naturally in the way that being able to sense what a vehicle is doing.

The reality is that todays cars are in some ways to good for their own good becuase in some way they have taken away the rush and thrill out of driving (unless of course you are going 100 MHP down sidestreets).

With all the noise/vibration insolation and computer assisted technology in cars it makes going 80 MHP feel like you are only doing 25HP.

So that people replying to it can boost their post count.

If you look around, there are plenty of other threads having nothing to do with the 5th Gen or future vehicles.

Okay, back to the original question... I'll jump the bandwagon and agree with the fast-slow-proposition.

It is kinda hard to drive slow car fast anyway...

Technology has made cars so easy, safe and boring to drive that people are involuntary trying to make driving more challenging by eating, drinking, talking on the cell phone and playing around with their DVD navigation system in the attempt to make the commute home more exciting and give other drivers some dangerous obstacles to avoid.

If you have a fun and exciting car to drive you dont need all that extra crap to grab your attention, now would ya!!

I also grew up on atv's, go-karts, mini-bikes oh and big *** farm tractors, and I hate cell phones. Anyone else who also rides a motorcycle will understand this. Some people can't walk and chew gum, and now they have a 2 ton + navigator don't forget the soccerball sticker on the back and they got their cell phones in one hand and fries from micky dees in the other. I can't even begin to count how many times I was almost creamed on my bike. Oh and now DVD's in the visor. Its a miracle I'm still here, lucky for me my bike is incredibly responsive and has gotten me out of more than a few really close calls. Sorry guys I had to vent. When I first got a car I thought the radio would be to distracting from driving , I'm over it now. I'll save the DVD's for when I'm on my couch thank you!

It seems like the current trend is to turn cars into mobile couches where the driver is becoming more and more like a passenger.

I guess years of "9 to 5 commuting" is burning people out on the whole driving experience and they just want to relax and be entertained.
