was the supercharged v6 the L67 series 2 they use in the 03 gpt? odd as to why the v6 model was only 8 percent of monaro's sold. going back to my previous thread about a small v8 GTO, does this mean people would rather have a small v8 over a superchanged v6, or did having both hurt the v6. anyone know the percentages of monaro's sold with their respective engine (ie what was percent of v6, small v8 and large v8 sold)?

think this could play a part in to the engine choices for upcoming sport coupe/sedan (like the Camaro)?

The superchanged v6 didn't have the performance of the V8, and in what is considered a 'sports car' people want performance.

eh? there was only 2 engine (technically 3) put in the production Monaro. the superchanged v6, 5.7L LS1 and 5.7L C4B (GTS motor but basically an LS1).

BTW, the CV6 stopped production back in early June.

click here to find out why the V8 version was way more popular than the V6.

Just think boys & girls, that's just the 300hp version. Imagine what the GTO will do with 340hp plus the higher torque cam.

It's just that the "e" and "a" buttons are so close together.

your right, i just wasn't making myself clear, and looking at the hsv site, it said they just made their 40,000 car, so it seems like a good majority of Monaro's were with the 328hp ls1. again with the amount of aftermarket performance products available for the superchanged v6, you would have thought that the v6 percentage would have been higher then just 8% And the V6 is a pretty sporty motor that takes to mods pretty well. definately a good entery level motor

One would think that the new DOHC motor from the CTS would have been put into the CV6 slot instead of scrapping all V6's. I know not many were made but why none?

If that were the case we'd see a lot of "Camwro" "Mondro" "Camsro" or "Monqro"....

no I think there are some that actually don't know how its spelled....
