Mitsu steps up their game with new EVO
Road & Track
bigger turbo
300(!) lbs lighter
6-speed
revised suspension
Price: 33K, but we all know dealers will ask (and probably get) double that amount. No word on how many will be made.

The new MR version looks to make the Evo an even more enjoyable ride with the addition of a larger turbocharger for improved low- and mid-range power
When the current one came out and a mag did a review on it, they said "The car has black door handels and mirrors so people know you care serious about racing". I had a good laught about that. Well not it looks like they are painted body color.

Evos are really good performing cars. Guys are trapping 110mph with just boost controllers and exhaust. They also handle really well and with 4 doors and a trunk, the car is versatile.
I really want an Evo for my next car.
yes, I admit that I was skeptical when the EVO first came out, but this latest offering is something that appeals to me...you can never argue with more power, less weight, better handling without that bad an increase in msrp

I do like the Evo MR, though. I hope manufacturers continue to bring these "hotter" editions out over here.

$4000 for 30hp, -300lbs, and whatever other tuning changes they've made. Nice additions, but that's still a nice chunk of cash. Even more of a chunk when you compare it to the ~$25k Evo RS.

Um, no. Bigger turbo = better top end. Still looks like one hell of a little car though.

I don't if we'll see this stateside or whether it'll be limited to the Euro market.

Something like a $4000 premium for the option package seems more realistic.
Well, there's various tricks that they can do to the turbo to gain power everywhere.. They can play with the turbine fins and housing and what not, and end up with a turbo thats more efficient.. more airflow, lower temps, with less spinup time even with a larger turbo.....
I think its a relatively good deal.. Wasn't the SS package for our 4th gens about $4000?
