Mitsu announces Evo 9

Notable improvements include an upgraded turbo along with MIVEC variable valve timing which should alow it to realize a significant power increase along with better economy. If only the Camaro had VETEC, maybe it would still be around

Re: Mitsu announces Evo 9

I can't see much difference over the current one visually

Is there a wing delete option on this car? I'd consider this car for a daily driver, but I just can't get past some of the aesthetics.

I think a turbo V8 Z28 would be an excellent idea, keep the VTEC though.

Is there an "extra 2 doors delete" option?

Is there an "economy car look delete" option?

Sorry, not for me.

Pros: One of the best all around performance cars on the market along with unlimited aftermarket support. The iron, closed deck block with strong stock internals is a great platform.

Cons: Non-car people giving you the look when you try to explain why you drive such a ricerific looking car.

My car has an ECU flash and a turbo back exhaust. Netted 40hp on the dyno for less than $1500 and drives smoother than stock. Rear sway helped alot too. Next step for me will be cams which would net another 30whp.

Re: Mitsu announces Evo 9

The IX is nothing new. It just incorporates some of the upgrades from the MR edition. The evo x will not be here until 2007.

Not that i've heard of. But the RS version doesn't have the wing (among other things like ABS, radio, etc...). That's the only EVO model that doesn't have the wing.

I'm sure if someone really, really wanted, they could get an Evo8/9 ordered without the wing (or have the trunk lid easily swapped out).

Still looks like a lancer :blah:

wake me up when they bring back a real eclipes or 3000GT. Mitsu will be out of business before the Evo X even comes close to being out.

I doubt many are buying this car primarily for its appearance.
