I've been hearing buzz on it's interior (supposedly better than even the F150). Pictures forthcomming.

Nice, almost looks like a mafia car. But it still looks pretty good.

I think the car looks nice. The pics make it look really low and I guess it should be a little bigger than the Impala. The steering wheel looks like it got pulled right off a Holden vehicle.

So the 2005 Mercury Montego look like a clone of the 2002 Audi A8 - with the exception of a big chrome "sewer grate" grill. The interior design is similarly anonymous. At least traditionalists can rejoice at the return of fake wood.

It's about time that Ford brought out a full-sized FWD sedan to compete head-on with the Buick LeSabre, but this car isn't exactly earth shattering. The important thing about the Montego is that its a sedan version of the upcoming Freestyle SUV. It also makes me wonder if the Freestar/Monterey minivans will be built on the same platform, on the same assembly line. Ford's engineering department might be working overtime on clever production tricks.

...Meanwhile, Ford's design staff is thumbing through Audi brochures, old Mustang photos, and taking long naps!

Theres a lot of Cadillac CTS V in the front of that. I guess when your design is good, its only a matter of time before it gets copied. I'm still waiting on the japanese to try an H2 ripoff...lol.

Yep, it's comming in AWD as well, and it doesn't look like an Audi to me either. Despite the overwhelming praise of the new Mustang's design (including youth, the public, the press, industrial designers & students, and pretty much everyone here who have seen it in person) some people still slam it's design & Ford's designers as well.

Some people simply won't give any Ford credit.

Afterall, they still have a ponycar.

Yep.

Odd thing is that it's twin, the F500 is going to be marketed between Taurus & Crown Victoria, and the Taurus' replacement will be based on the Mazda 6.

What other cars does ford make that look like a audi? turaus, mustang? Focus? Crown Vic? GT40?? I don't think any of Fords cars look like an Audi.

When is Ford going to replace the Contour? that thing came out in 1995, turaus was 96, They both are long due for a replacement.

I was refering to the FiveHundred's Audi resemblence...Seems every new car they make is retro..or looks like a VW/Audi.
