Wow that takes me back to the 90s... The "fog" lights beside the headlights (I guess they're DRLs) and the overall front end remind me of 90s Lexus. The rear taillights, the front dual fog lights, everything looks tacky and outdated, almost as if this Mercedes was designed in China. Wait... Even the Chinese can sculpt a beautiful Buick. I don't know, maybe Korea?

288hp in the 3.5 CGI, which won't be available in the U.S., supposedly because it needs 95 octane gasoline. So we'll get the 268hp model.

I like it a lot with the sport appearance package on it. In a dark blue or black with some aftermarket wheels with a lip on them.

The interior is obviously of good quality, but seems a bit dated in its looks. I much prefer the CTS interior design to that. Looks like they have the same gear shift **** as the Jaguar XF, which I'm indifferent to at this point.

Don't like the interior or exterior.

Interior looks like a throwback to Mercedes of the 90s, before they discovered they could actually put some, like, *styling* into their efforts. And it looks like it has an iDrive-like controller stuck in there for good measure. Barf.

Exterior? Take virtually any 4-door Mercedes from the past 15 years, and add some tacky, not-well-integrated details. Snore.

The ratings in Europe and NA are different. They had 98 octane gasoline, which is at best our 93 octane, IIRC. 95 is equivalent to 91.

If you can run a motorbike (which uses high compression ratio) on 91 octane, you can run a car engine as well.

I'm sure people will buy them but it's a step back in design from the current model.

It's like they took inspiration bits from the Lexus LS up front, BMW 3 series doors, and dare I say Hyundai Genesis for rear taillights.

Mercedes is supposed to be copied not copy.

Maybe they were just doing so well recently cause they were stealing piles and piles of money from Chrysler and thusly could afford to put more money into paying designers.

My first impression is that it reminds me of the Hyundai Genesis. Good for Hyundai. Bad for Mercedes Benz.

Yeah, I don't think it's an attractive car either.
They should have just taken their C-class and upsized it.
I like the new C-class.

I'm just repeating what I read -- I think on autoblog, but it may have been autoweek.
Maybe that's not the real reason....
