I agree, however, in a pure context, there is ALWAYS something interesting at the NAIAS.

Do I personally think it will be something called a Camaro? No. It might be a RWD coupe, but I don't think it will be called Camaro. That might even by what it is, but I don't think that's what it will be called.

It might not have the name, but if it *is* the Camaro concept, we'll be able to tell. From what I've been told by a few Chevy designers, "it's all Camaro, ...it's all Camaro."

Here is a thought,

If GM has a concept at NAIAS that looks like a Camaro but is not called Camaro,

What does GM gain in that?

Seems to me if they call it Camaro it would bring more hype.

I guess I am burned out with concepts. Heck, I have skipped the NAIAS the last year or so. The last one I went to was when they showed the new Vette.

I just can't get excited over these concepts that rarely make it to market and when they do, it is 3 or 4 years down the line and they rarely look like the concept.

The Cadillac Evoq. We get the XLR(Awesome car, but compared to the concept....)The GTO conept.......(Awesome, what do we end up with......?)The Rageous, The SS, The Bengal......

I guess I am just pretty jaded over the whole thing.

I would prefer if they just did like they did with the Vette. Keep it under wraps and then show it in production form.

I don't know about that. I guess you could say the same thing for the SS then. In my opinion, it was a Camaro concept that was not named Camaro. I'll bet that's exactly what it was. And, I'll bet it was put out there to test the public opinion.

It’s been stated multiple times that the SS concept had nothing to do with Camaro by Scott.

I would say that too about the SS if I was Scott. But that doesn't mean I am telling the truth.

I see where you’re coming from but I still have my doubts that SS concept had anything to do with Camaro. I think at the time of the concept was released Camaro was not too high on GM's list of things to do. While I know there have always been pull by some in GM to get a new Camaro to market I don’t think the ball really got rolling until the Mustang released. This concept coming up should have Camaro written all over it

I guess my question is, How will you feel if there is some awesome concept that is even named Camaro and then 3 years later, some watered down Camaro comes out?

Alas, that's my point and what I have been getting at all along.

You would probably have the same answer, if I asked, What if the SS truly was a Camaro concept?

Agreed. The SS was more in the line of Impala and Chevelle for that matter.

I get more depressed every time I read that. By that time it will/could have been 8 years since the last Camaro.........EIGHT..... . I know that everyone "inside" is doing the best they can and yada yada, but can anyone honestly expect the vast majority of the enthusiast base to wait nearly a decade for a new car? It better be one hell of a ride when it does finally show up to the party
