Make the case for this Buick halo car...
Does Buick actually need a halo car?
I'm not joking actually... I mean, wouldn't Cadillac basically be what a Buick halo car would need to be?
Want something 'better' than a Buick? Step into a Cadillac, the pricepoint would likely be similar for a halo Buick and a entry-to-mid-level-Cadillac.

A two door Regal with a 320HP turbo engine would be cool. I'd pass on the 2.8L and got with an updated LNF, or stage one LNF with 290HP. Make AWD an option and you get rid of the thirsty and heavy part.
I think a higher priority should be for Buick to get a trendy smaller car like the mini cooper or Volvo C30. Something that will have no problem selling for $20K+ yet gets 35mpg+ and draws a new group of customers into Buick.
That Delta II Opel coupe that was show a few months ago might work.

Put it this way...
If Buick ever wants to be serious about it's new intended market (Acura, Audi, Lexus, etc.) then it BETTER have something like this in the showroom or it simply won't succeed.
And I don't really thing heavy and thirsty when I think of the Regal.

I am not sure a Halo car is needed. What at Acura makes people come into the show room? A TL? A RL? They don't really have a Halo car.
Toyota doesn't have a Halo car.
Again, I am not sure Buick needs one. It would be interesting to see a performance model. But honestly, as nice as the LaCrosse looks, and the pricing, I think people will be coming into to take a look.

Actually, I think that would make a great halo for Buick.
I'd like to know where GM wants to position Buick in the market. I see BMW as Cadillac's target and Lexus as Buick's target, but I'm not sure if GM intends to have two brands that far upmarket.
On another note, the G8 would make a great Chevy.

Buick might be Lexus style luxury at a better price. I think they are going for nicer than Chevy, cheaper than Caddy.
