I don't think the VE is part of the Zeta program anymore. So there is/will be one Zeta.

How long does tooling take to get? I imagine that in order for something to pass final approval it would need to have all engineering work done so basically it would need to be ready to build. That is what I meant.

I don't know how much work has been done on the next GTO just looking at where it would be from a timeline stand point IF all the engineering were done.

none? Well if they dont get a sport coupe what about a sport version of the g8, or a high powered solstice coupe at least?

It's a new reality show. Who wants to be in the CAR biz?

Re: Lutz says: Too early to tell if Zeta will underpin next GTO.

Things aren't exactly as disasterous as it seems. Bad, yeah. Disasterous, no.

GM seems to have gutted Holden by giving them guidelines in developing the VE with the expectation it would also be sold here, then not selling them here or covering Holden's expenses in developing the car. Holden is now in the position where not only can they not get their own coupe to market (though it's all but done), or the UTE is also likely to be killed off courtesy of GM-NA as well, but Holden can't even afford to do any concept cars!

Meanwhile, GM-NA's "Zeta" seems on track for coming to market before the end of the decade. The next Holden (after the V based Zeta) is likely to be part of NA's Sigma based Zeta as well (unless cost and complexity is enginered out of the VE based version).

I was at the "ICUEE" show in Lousiville, KY yesterday and today and I talked to a Chevrolet rep for GM Commercial. Actually talked about the 900's, but somehow we got onto the Camaro discussion.

He said the Camaro will be spawned off of the next gen's GTO undercarriage. Don't know if it has any validity or not, just what he told me. So next GTO 1st, THEN a possible Camaro.

What is the IUCEE show? I live in Louisville you think I would have heard of it.

www.icuee.com

Got the letters mixed up, LOL.

It's a Construction and Utility demo expo. All the manlifts, boring machines, cranes, utility trucks. GM had a nice display with an Allison and the Duramax. Even some Isuzu trucks...

I believe that was the plan before GTO and the rest of the Zeta line got... how would you say?.... "Rearranged".

GM is on record saying that deciding against sharing with Holden cost them RWD 2008 cars for Buick & Pontiac. But yet, Chevrolet's RWD cars (which were to come after Zeta intros from the start) seems to be the only one on track right now, while Buick & Pontiac is scrambling to get on with Chevy.

Why?

They were two different programs.

Remember my sports bike analogy?
