Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

I would have said the same thing if I were Bob . Not the majority of , but alot of car buyers are more inflenced by media views rather than their own . And sure the HHR does closely resemble the PT , but have you seen a 40's suburban lately ? Sadly it'll probably pretty hard to find a magazine article about the HHR that doesnt have the PT cruiser name in the headline too .

I like the fact the Lutz doesn't try to suck up to media and will say exactly how he feels

Wow. He is a bigger idiot than I first thought.. Bitching at the media like that..?? Real smart coming from someone in his position. I am sure that is going to help GM from his remarks.

He is way too arrogant considering he has not proven to anyone yet that he has accomplished anything great while at GM.

I don't mind the HHR all that much. I would much rather have one than a PT Cruiser. But I do agree...GM needs to listen to it's loyal fanbase rather than their own insiders. We want our F-Body back!!!

Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

How big are those HHR's?? If I had a wife looking for a minivan, i'd ask her about that. Its a lot cooler looking and seems to have a lil versatility in the seating.

That lil tihng could sell good if it isnt too small.

You can stand by your product without kicking the collective media and a lot of enthusiasts in the nuts every chance you get. That kind of antagonism will bite you in the butt eventually.

Angry Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

Lutz got angry 'cause he knows that there is no way that car will sell. Sure people will buy it....however, we are not going to beat the glass door down at the local Chevy dealership to get one.

Lutz needs to get off his dead *** and bring the masses what we really want......Camaro.

Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

The main problem with the HHR is that it has taken so long to get to market. It seems like they announced it 3-4 years ago, and we are just now seeing it.

That being said, the PT still sells well..not because of styling....but because it is an incredibly cheap, and versitile vehicle. Retro or not...those kinds of vehicles always sell.

Thumbs down Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

I seriously doubt this thing will sell at all. Like I said before, I don't even see where this thing is supposed to fit in the lineup. It's too odd looking to be mainstream and not odd looking enough (in a "good" way) to be original and sell as a novelty. It may be the best car/truck/whatever in GM's portfolio (not saying it is, just making a point), and I doubt people will buy it still. If GM's hoping to siphon away PT sales, that's going to be tough and at the same time seems a really bad route to go with economically if that's all it's for.

Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

One more thing to add, isn't this going to canibalize sales from the Equinox?

I don't see a buyer wanting a Durango going over to a Chrysler PT, but I imagine there will be plenty of cross hopping between HHR & Equinox buyers.

Re: Lutz blasts media over HHR.

In my view, the vehicle falls into the same "what the hell???" category as the SSR.

2 years of mediocre sales and then GM will start looking for ways to pull the plug.

Money would have been better spent making Cadillacs or Impalas even better.
