LS3 In C6 MCE
Single digit year doesn't work very well anyway. How do you tell the difference between a 1995 and a 2005?
Good eye!
Damn! Hope I dont **** you off...
That car wasn't for sale, who ever said it was? Or did you just come up w/ that on your own?

Here is the VIN # for the car in question, the 10th digit is the code for the model year. 5-2005, 3-2003, and so on. What does the 10th digit say?

1995 was designated as 'S'.
Fair enough. In that case, someone in the know should update this Wikipedia page.
The Vette IS A LUXURY CAR!! 50k is not chump change. Just cause it doesnt have a wreath and crest doesnt mean it should be saddled with a crappy interior. Look at the Malibu's interior, and the design of the interior, and now look at a car that is 2x the price! The Corvette has always had a sub par interior, but so has all of GM. The current interior is pre-Lutz, so I hope that he had his hands in this one.
The Malibu's interior looks great, the CTS's interior is outstanding, both cars are cheaper then the Corvette. The bar has been raised high since the introduction of C6, and its time to update the interior.

If you want luxury get a caddy that is why they are there.
The vette is not a luxury car... the vette is an all out performance car.. with what you are asking you are going to make the base vette cost 80k. Please.. stop the bitching about the center console or the interior and let them put the money where it counts.. Chassis, engine, trans, brakes, suspension.

I mean if you can put a nice interior in a freakin' Malibu... you can do it on a Vette. There's a reason why the Vette is a 45 to 60k dollar car and the GTO and Camaro is much less expensive. And yes some of that is in the chassis, body, brakes, and suspension, but certainly not all of it.
The Caddy XLR has a ****ty interior too. REALLY ****ty for the kind of money they want for it. The all new CTS will have a far nicer interior for far less of a price.
My personal suspicion is that the C7 will get it right. At least most of the redesigns in the last 1-2 model years seem to have, so if they stay on a roll, the C7 will too.
I still think the C6 interior is 'ok'... but it's just one area of the car that's just not even close to on par with the rest of the car, and yes people judge a car by its surface before they even see what's underneath. Why else do you think the exterior looks matter so much. Do you think people would buy a new Vette if it had the exterior style and quality of a 50 year old Jeep, even if it offered the exact same performance? I mean what if they saved enough by slaughtering the styling and exterior quality to drop the price by 6-7 grand? People still wouldn't buy it.
I mostly agree with Threxx on this one. The C6 is a lot nicer than the C5 on the inside, but saying it doesn't deserve the interior of a $50K car because it is performance oriented is kind of silly.
People were defending GM's trucks using the same stupid logic. Now everyone seems to be praising these nice new interiors they've come out with, and rightfully so! And surprise - the price hasn't really changed!

Why do you get on this board? All you do is bash GM. Is that the only reason you are here? Every post I see of yours is a low blow to GM. I don't understand why you are here at all.
Sigh...Threxx gets the brow beating much more often than GM ever does on this board. And that isn't right. Because Threxx sees the problems that most of us do not. Maybe it is the 'rose colored glasses' maybe it is the 'GM kool aid' but we don't see GM for what it really is all the time. If you would have asked me if the XLR interior was nice you would have gotten a 'hell yes'. But inreality it isn't on par with the competition. The MB SL while more expensive is certainly nicer and if money were not an object I would get one (or an AM Vantage) over the XLR, despite my love of the XLR's pure classic lines. The Vette is somewhat in the same vein. While it is priced below almost every 'competitor' and outperforms them until you reach mid triple digits its interior isn't on level and that hurts sales. Especially overseas. Ever see a Top Gear review of the C5? C6? THAT is what a new interior would help.
You must only read half of my posts, then - and you're lucky enough to somehow only catch the negative ones.
I'm negative because I want GM to succeed, and I like asking 'hard' questions on a board where, IMO, they don't get asked often enough. If I didn't care about them, I'd dismiss them as hopeless and move on.
I say this all the time but there's a Lexus 'car chat' board that I somewhat frequent with topics similar to this, and on there I'm regarded as largely anti-foreign and pro-domestic.
Weird, huh?
