This is undoubtedly old news, but if you have the patience to wait for things to download, look at this avanti. GM is suing avanti for a knock off of the hummer, but check out the reskinned f-body...

If these things weren't so expensive and ugly on the nose .... I'd be interested. Read the specs .... it has to be a reskinned f-body.

I believe they actually have a deal with GM for the re-skinned F-Body... they used them as a 'core' car, then refitted them... not sure what their plans are now that the F-body can no longer serve as a starting point for them.
I know they had this deal back in the 80's as well, but used the Caprice as their 'core' car...

We used to have the Avanti "factory" in my hometown back in the 80's... it was this small crummy building...

They might as well take a Civic and strap on a body kit. And then sell it for 50 grand. Same difference. Either way, makes no sense. Take a car, put new sheetmetal on it and charge twice as much as the top model?
