The license plate bracket is laughable.

HUGE THUMBS DOWN!!!

The front plate mount has been nicely intergrated into the fascia since 1984... this is just another reason for me to not like the front fascia.

Dave Hill has called the pop-up headlamps "Air Brakes" in the past... whether or not this is aerodymanic or not in reality, it has the looks of a 6-pack cooler screwed onto the front end...

Agreed. If it had more C5 qualities than C4 it would be much better.

You get to drill 3 holes into the front fasica of your new $50k sports car!!

Not to mention the fact that it destroys the lines from the front, and likely the side as well.... one guy on Corvette Forum summed it up like this:

While not ugly, that front end just is not doing it for me, and that license plate bracket (which is required here) is just awful. From the front facia back, it's a nice car, but the front...

Final judgement reserved for personal inspection, but...

It just doesn't fit with the car. There is no way in hell I'd drill into the front of the car. I can just imagine the used ones that will go unsold due to 3 holes drilled in the front.

No doubt! My CTS's front bracket requires drilling, which I have yet to do. I don't mind the plate so much, I just don't want to drill holes in my bumper for as long as I have to.

Regarding the C6, maybe that is an item that will be addressed by the aftermarket. Something that mounts inside the "lips" of the grille and sits a little lower on the bumper. That frame thats in the pictures....thats just so awkward looking, its like they forgot to design it and did it at the last minute or something.

I think the problem with mounting it "in" the grille is that the front grille is functional and needed for air for the engine now... I think it is 60/40 or so split for air intake (under the car and through the grille), where the C5 was 100% air intake from below...

Yup, the grill is functional and needs to remain unblocked, but that doesn't excuse the fact that Tom Peters and his team dropped the ball when handling the problem of front plates. It looks like a half-*you know what*, cobbled-together at the last minute solution.

I couldn't agree more.

And it's probably why the C6 is the first new Corvette ever that I am having a hard time accepting...... still.

I can take just about everything on the car, but I still have issues with the front clip, and this makes it an even more strong feeling.
