Local Dealer Finally Gets a GTO, and it doesn't have GTO wheels?
The Local GM dealer finally got a GTO this week. Though I've seen the GT0 several times last year, this was the first one that was actually on sale at the dealer that I've seen. And the first one I've seen in a nice color.
The GTO Bright Red and looks stunning. It has some really nice chrome wheels on it that are not the regular GTO wheels. There is a H on the center cap, like a logo. My first thought was Holden but its not any kind of Holden logo that I am familar with. So I am not sure what the deal is. There was no additional sticker on the window for dealer added options.
This GTO is a A4 the first I've seen and I was really surprized at the EPA ratings for the auto. 16 city and 21 hwy. That really sucks compared to an F-Body or Corvette w/LS1

I thought the GTO had kind of an unusual bolt pattern for the U.S. I'm kind of surprised there are aftermarket wheels already. They weren't Hurst "H" logos on the wheels were they? There were Hurst aftermarket wheels that were popular on the original GTO (now rare and pricey).

I'll try and get some pics. for you guys. The weather is pretty lousy (raining) today. Yesterday was awesome weather wise and the dealership was closed, I wish I had my digicam with me.
If I get a chance I'll go up there tonight after they close that way I won't be bugged by a salesmen.
I don't think the wheels were a dealer installed option because there is not an extra sticker on the car for dealer installed options. The 33K and change they are asking for the car is what is on the regular window sticker. Also I scanned through the window sticker pretty quickly yesterday, tonight if I go back I double check to see if it says anything about optional wheel pkg.

The GTO at the dealer down the street had stock wheels on it when they got it a month or so ago, and they replaced them with aftermarket wheels at some point. Next time I'm there I'll have to check and see what kind they are, I forget at the moment. It's interesting it hasn't sold yet, they got a silver one at the same time that was sold within two days, and then I saw a black one there the other day that was must have been a customers car getting work done because it had a baby seat in the back. Interesting though, because I never saw it there on the lot before it was sold... They must have ordered it special. Actually, I saw it driving around earlier that day, first time I've seen one of them move. It was sharp
I guess that's better than Village Pontiac here in Naperville charging an extra $4,000 (I think) for "custom wheels and tires" that are the stock wheels and tires. This is just their way of hiding their greedy markup.
I've always said that they shouldn't have changed the rims on the GTO from the originals without the wierd center additions. Seems people are already changing them, what a surprise.
I somewhat agree. I like the center “Pontiac” logo on the factory wheels. What I don’t like is the blades on them though. I liked the show cars’ flat blades better.
However, I will be changing my wheels too and it has nothing to do with the center cap. It’s because I want the 18” Monaro CV8 5 spoke wheels.

Mystery solved, I went back to the dealership to take a couple of pics. and they had stuck one of those dealer installed options stickers on the the window. $2,000.00 for wheels and window tint for a total of $35K and change. As soon as I get the pics. posted somewhere I'll post a link here.
I still don't know who makes the wheels that they put on the GTO.
