Honestly....

With the Detroit auto show open to the media last Sunday, it made me think...if the Camaro is to return, I figure GM will have to start revealing sketches or concept one year from now. If there are no sketches or concepts, than FORGET IT! There won't be a 5th Gen Camaro!

This is based on all the info I've read on this forum.

I was going to post a poll and get everyone's thoughts ("insiders" included ) about the chances of the pre-production Camaro being front and center at NAIAS 2006, 2007, later (or never?) after this year's auto show was over. You may have beaten me to it.

If it's a 2008 MY car, it will be shown in 2 years. If it's gonna be out for 2007, I have to believe next year's show will be the one!

 

im guessing we may see sketches(if we do see them) in 9 months. unless GM wants it to be a complete surprise then well see it at probly both la and naias

My hunch: When GM shows any Zeta based vehicle such as the Camaro or GTO do not expect leaks to happen like with the z06, especially if the Camaro were to be shown. I fully expect GM to keep media information for auto shows on Zeta based vehicles to themselves until the exact embargo date and time.

 

When is the new GTO comming out (model year)?

 

I most often hear MY2007, but have heard 2008 as well.

Obviously, this would be directly linked to the Monaro...

 

This (06) is the last year for the V series in AUS, my money is we will see the car at next year's Detroit, the question is will it be alone?

 

Its possible that we could see a production GTO with a Chevy coupe concept? I think that next year could be the big release of the Zeta cars.
Or does GM wait till 08 for there 100th bday?

 

Next years show season at one show will be trucks, possibly more than one show. GMT900 will be prime by then and ready to show off.

 

'07 is the Camaro's 40th birthday. I'm betting on that.

Yes defidently, it will be the perfect opportunity. You have the end of the whole Canadian contract problem, the detroit auto show, 40th anniversary, thousands of letters asking to bring it back, need for competition with cars such as the new mustang which will probably end up doing very well. I cant see one reason why they would not want to bring it back. If they plan it right theres not a single doubt in my mind they could sell incredible amount.
