Leaving GM -- Clarke, Cowger, Kempston Darkes …
Can someone who knows (let's not clutter this thread with guesswork) give an example of the sort of title/responsibilities that would be held by an 8th level employee?
I found this interesting...
Also announced were the last five members to be elected to the GM board. In all, the U.S. government selected 10 board members, while the Canadian government and United Auto Workers each selected one. Fritz Henderson is the 13th board member.
Gm salary work force employment level... 5,6,7 (regular guys), and, 8,9, tech_9, and unclassified (Un_code for you gm regs). Management is 8 and above. Gm has millions (well... alot of them) of 8's. You get sort of a mgt (8's) club if you fit in. But, also drive a car on gm's dime (perks), and, larger raise percentage. I have not witnessed, in all my gm years, any 8+ on the fac_floor fixing or installing any automation/ equipment. I don't think they can do the real work if they are demoted to 7 level (I've never seen them do it). You don't really do any real tech work as an 8. Some did the work, but, when they get elevated to 8, then they do not use the tech/ engineering skills and loose them (if they had ant @ all). 8's usually rate the salary employee with the PMP performance process. Most all salary engineer's get a bad rating due to lack of money to go around. You usually always get pounded no matter haw much you "sacrifice" (a BHO term). Also, 8's ar'nt popular with the union boyz. HTH. B.
Let me know if Lutz invades Poland...we might have a problem.
I'm anticipating the results.
