Re: Just got back from BG....drove some cars too.
Glad to see you had a great time. I really missed all you guys! I was supposed to be there, but Ivan would have made the 13 hour drive impossible. I WILL be there next year, even if I have to fly!
Yeah, Branden, Zane's got a butt kickin' with your name on it! LOL!!
The Camaro Summit 2004 was a HUGE success! We had 12 people show up and talked for a good 3 hours.
Of course if you want to know what we talked about...YOU SHOULDA' BEEN THERE!
After the remnants of Ivan scooted by on Thursday AM it turned out to be a great weekend!
I had to book out after the Summit to make a local club event, but still had a great time.
I really enjoyed FINALLY meeting Charlie and his buddy...along with the rest of you knuckleheads. LOL!
Fun part of the weekend was me, Steve Heino, Zane Merva, Adam Boca and and 2 other guys trying our damnedest to get thrown out of the go-cart track Friday night..........and we did it!
BTW, My 1969 RS/SS w/ a 383 LT4, 6 speed got 25 mpg on the trip!! Not to bad for a 3:73 geared, 470hp car, running between 75 and 80 mph for the most part.....huh?

Re: Just got back from BG....drove some cars too.
Nice finally meeting you too Doug! And Zane too.
That was my first time in BG. Very friendly people, but hard to get a martini made to your specifications there. Oh well.....
Sure are alot of 6th gen Corvette's there, huh. I wasn't really sure how much I liked the looks of the "C6" when I saw it at the Chicago show earlier this year....but I think it's looks are growing on me. Especially in black, silver or white. One thing for sure, the C5 looks alittle old when you park it next to a C6. I think it's got the best looking wheels from Chevy in years...maybe decades.
Thanks to Scott and Zane I had a chance to drive one. It was a base auto. Boy, can that thing carve up that twisty road next to the Corvette Museum. A six speed manual would have been even better in that role.....( the automatic trans kept upshifting at the apex of every turn, when I lifted off the brakes)...but the chassis and LS2 were flawless. The LS2 feels substantially stronger than it's LS1 predecessor. It's brakes work awesome as well.
If I were going to get one though, I'd definitely pop for the Z51 six speed.

Damn, I knew I should have actually gotten up when the alarm went off, I was just to damn tired to even open my eyes. Oh well, there is always next year when the rumors should really start flying as it gets closer to a target date...

Anyone have an approx. count of how many F-bodies were there? I know it was way less than the number needed for RP to quit smoking.

Hey it was awesome meeting you guys at the "Camaro Summit 2004"
I'll be sure to attend the 2005 edition!
I didn't get to drive any cars... maybe next time I'll try harder. LOL
As for how many F-Bodies were there... well, I took a picture of almost every one that was there on Saturday, so lemme count my pictures, hehe.
