By the way of the 3,500 G8 sales............over 3,000 were retail sales. Just thought I'd put that out there.

From that link, only the Silverado sold more. Impala was the second best selling vehicle from GM in the month of June. 14k sold.

I don't know how many of those are fleet. So yes, I think the Impala is a big seller.

Being number one shouldn't be important to GM... Actually making some money should be.

For being in Bankruptcy and hanging onto existance by the tips of its fingernails, its still fairly impressive.
Especially for a company who builds cars that no one wants. Thats a lot of unwanted cars.

Fair enough. I do agree with the quoted statement above though. That has been my complaint in other threads as well.

Considering what they are going through I think that is an accomplishment. With very little debt there is no reason they wont be making money...

What I don't get is Holden supposedly have a demand issue regarding VE/G8... if the US/Canada is 'able' to take more G8s, why isn't there a plan to export more G8s to NA to meet the extra demand? Lord knows Holden has the extra capacity to do it.

Unless that demand isn't actually there...

Haven't they stopped production of the G8?

Well, considering the current selling prices for G8's................... I have a feeling that GM has finally figured out that you can't lose money on every sale, and make it up in volume.

Selling cars is a good thing.

Selling cars at a profit, is what keeps you in business.
