John Heinricy to retire from GM

Thanks for all you've done, John.

One of my favorite memories from my time working for GM is the time I got to ride along with John in an LS2 development car, doing hot laps around Waterford Hills. That guy can freakin' DRIVE.

I never met the guy, but my feeling is that he was one of the enthusiasts, one of the car-guys that 'got it' and knew what it takes to make an exciting vehicle. Probably a long uphill battle with the accountants at GM, trying to build a product that car people would enjoy and buy.

I hope they find a good replacement. I'm sure going to miss him. He was a great scca racer i love so see him do his thing.

There's a lot a person can still do, even in retirement.

I would bet that we will see John Heinricy return and enhance GM performance in some other capacity, perhaps as a manager for some aftermarket parts manufacturer.

If I was close to retirement and in the automotive industry, I'd retire too. Doesn't surprise me.

I'd like to see Ford offer John Heinricy enough money to retire form GM and come work for Ford as a consultant for a coupla years
