As for pricing...
The LS is overpriced.
The T-bird was overpriced.
They both sold units. Not like gangbusters, but they sold.
I am basing my prices off the 300. If Chrysler can do it, Ford should too.
If the LS, T-bird, and 49 were sharing platforms, engines, drivelines, interiors (some anyways), and even wheels and tires - there is NO REASON Ford could not produce this car and make money at my price-points. Heck, Mustang is on a heavily modified platform all by itself, using a specially-derived 4.0L and a specially designed and built 3V mod-motor, has totally unique interior, and the only live axle in a 2-door at Ford, etc, etc, etc but it starts at $19k and puts a V8 in at $25k. So who's to say this car couldn't squeak in at those levels too? Sure it's a dream - the whole idea of this car is a dream at this point - but 3 years ago, when the T-bird and LS were rolling off the line, this was doable IMO.
PS - Know what? If Ford would drop the prices on the LS alone by $5 to $8k, that car would STILL go like crazy even today.
Much less something with as much styling as the FortyNine.

And I would disagree with you comment on sales of the LS and T-bird. If it was acceptable (even close to projections) they would still be up for sale...
I hope both of you take this a constructive conversation...fighting over a pipedream would be pretty silly.
Saying that, you are both crazy
