Interview with Scott Settlemire in Camaro Performers...
Re: Interview with Scott Settlemire in Camaro Performers...
Since Mr. Settlemire is " He is now so highly associated with the Camaro that any mail sent to GM solely with the word "Camaro" on the envelope is directed to him."
and "is currently its auto shows and exhibits manager." I was just kind of wondering if we might see a certain vehicle on the Hot Rod Power Tour this year?
What do you think, Sir?

no seriously, Scott's probably proactive and outspoken, given how many customers have access to him and relay to him their deep seated desire to own another fire breathing RWD muscle car made by GM.

Re: Interview with Scott Settlemire in Camaro Performers...
He smoked 8 cigarettes during breakfast alone at Jason's, Doug's and my "summit" that Saturday morning in BG in September.

Scott, we want you to live to DRIVE a 5th gen. I was too busy taking in the conversation to notice the amount of light ups, but Ashleigh, working in health care, raised concern upon departure from Jerrys about Scott's consumption. I think we need to get those 1,000 cars to BG soon so he has to keep his promise.
Oh yeah, one more thing. BG '03, I followed him down a country road...he was in a pre-production SSR he was driving. Turning onto the main drag, he lit up the LR pretty good. I had to follow suit, and did the most gorgeous power slide onto the main road and got 2 1/2 gears of rubber straight. It was so beautiful, I don't think I could do it again if I tried.
He gives off magic

)Understand that I'm not at the top of the company. I am at the age where we were given the opportunity --if we chose to-- take early retirement.
Well.......there's a couple of problems with that:
#1. No WAY is someone 39 years of age ready to retire. oh....wait.....haven't been 39 in AGES..........nevermind......
#2. I can't imagine retiring.....what WOULD I do with myself??? (the world isn't ready for me to be out there with nothing to do....
#3. While I am a car guy....there are others ....many others...within GM that are as well. I think Mr. Lutz has for the most part allowed them to be heard...and as a result, you get some great cars like the Z06. ...Now....before everyone starts piling on here with "GM builds (add your favorite insult here)......I'd say great things have happened at Cadillac and Chevrolet. Yes, corp. is losing market share. (the pie stays the same..more players......YA THINK??) But Chevy is selling more cars and trucks than they have in a longgggg time. There is still a feeling that American cars and trucks are inferior. (and I'm sure this will be the perfect opportunity to let a few once again slam Ford/GM........) I hope that will change.

i'm just glad Mr. Lutz is listening to the right people to allow some of these cars, Impala SS, MC SS, Z06, GP GXP, and so on, to see the light of day.
sooooooo.....annnyyyyyyyywayyyyyyyyy......how's the book coming?????

Re: Interview with Scott Settlemire in Camaro Performers...
I was physically abused by Mr. Settlemire this last year in Atlanta. He asked me if I still had my 93 Pace Car. I said yes, but was looking to sell it. I got smacked upside the head!!! I tried to explain.....SMACK!!! Again. I think the total count was 3. My wife started where he left off so I lost count how many times I was hit.
He's a great guy, but don't tell him you're thinking of selling the car.
Scott, quit smoking so that we can enjoy your company at future shows. BTW, the interior pic of the 5th gen you sent me was blurry, can you resend it. The exterior pic was ok, but better pics would be appreciated!
