Insider shapes Charger pic!
Insider shapes Charger pic!
Picture1
Picture2
The first picture is said to be looking very close to what the Charger will look like. The nose is said to be correct from insiders to have seen the Charger. The only thing I think might be wrong woud be this would be the LX car with a low beltline. Looks like it climbs to quarter.
The second is basically the first put on a Magnum frame. The front fenders are said to be too long and the trunk deck. Obviously, the wheelbase will not be as long, but gives you an idea.

I hope both of those are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay off the mark. Even though DC said they wouldn't use it, that 1999 concept was much nicer than either of those. Also, the suicide door idea was much better looking than those 4 doors.
Re: Insider shapes Charger pic!
The actual basic sheetmetal is very very simular to the Charger concept. The nose, while head on might be close, is NOT blunt as the pics show. It's a little closer to the Stratus coupe & Magnum in appearence.
Remember, this car is replacing the Intrepid in NASCAR, and highway fuel economy in influenced partially by front end aerodynamics. The blunt front end shown (as well as the lack of wheel lip creases) is not what the Charger looks like.
Overall, those pictures are poor representatives of the actual Charger. Anyone who actually takes time to look at Chrysler's styling direction over the past few years will know that's not something the current Chrysler would come up with. Don't give those drawings alot of stock. We'll have a peek very soon.

I thought the charger was gonna be a 4 door.. but the rears were gonna be smaller suicide doors, like on those saturns.... I thought those half doors sounded odd.. but now with 4 full doors? People call the GTO bad cause it doesnt reflect the old cars.... how can 4 doors do the Charger name jusitce
Re: Insider shapes Charger pic!
Bwahaha! Looks like something I'd create...
You just know right now that the Charger is going to probably be the baddest assest looking thing on the road when it hits dealerships. I mean if they can make a station wagon look good on the LX platform...ohhh I can't wait to see what they can do with a traditional muscle car. :drool in advance:

The only thing the Charger production car will carry over to the NASCAR car is the nose. They are suppose to show the accepted 2005 NASCAR version of the Charger next month. While there has been speculation the actual car will show up 8/15, along with the Imperial, the production car will not be seen until the NAIAS.

If that's what it'll look like, I'll say screw the '06, I'll stick with my '66........
I'd like mine more when I get new brakes/suspension, oh, and a whole new drivetrain lol. Concept pic is more proof that they will never make them like they used to.

Re: Insider shapes Charger pic!
It's really something. Everyone who has seen the Charger....or knows someone that has seen the Charger....says it's awesome. Yet, every drawing or PS I've seen is lame.
Go figure.
