Info needed. 1998 Chev Nova?
I recieved a call with a person saying he has a 1998 Chevrolet Nova that is for sale that he can buy. It is right hand drive, with a 5.8L V8. My first thought was it to be a Holden, but he insisted it was a Chevrolet. He said it looked somewhat like a Grand Prix, which also points to a Holden. Some things didn't add up like a 5.8 V8 and being a 1998 with the name, Nova. The Nova name ended in the 80's here in the US, Canada doesn't use right hand drive, Australia uses right hand drive, but are Holdens. My only guess is a middle eastern chev, but I don't know or have a link. If you have any idea, please help! Thankyou much!
He's either yanking your chain, or he means Lumina or Caprice (the only Chevrolet names used on Chevrolet labeled cars in the world that aren't sold in the US!).
If he tries to say it's sold south of our border, call
on him. Nova means "no go" in spainish, which is why Chevrolet sold the car under a different name in those countries.
I can also tell you first hand.

Correction: he said that it was a left hand drive car, not right as previously mentioned, but couldn't compare it to anything else other than a GP in the front. He stated it was rear wheel drive coupe with an automatic tranny and a back seat. He persist that it was a factory 5.8 V8 and he is buying it for only $4000, and the buddy he is buying it from payed only $1000 for it. He will send me pics as soon as he gets back to school on Mon. Any other ideas?

I agree, but still want to know what this thing is. I wish I could see a picture of it. Or at least a VIN that I could run a vis on it through my program to get the original equipment.

I worked with some really good Mexicans at my job two jobs ago, and this is one of the things I directly asked him.
It's true. Snopes is wrong.
