I still don't get this denial about it being retro. Here's a clue: the majority of publications or articles that talked about the concept described it as 'retro' or 'heritage' or 'throwback' or something similar. Do you really think all of these journalists got it wrong? Talk about tilting at windmills!

I think that after a person sees something so frequently (as most here have with the concept, even if only in pictures), there's a tendency to lose perspective and objectivity on its core essense. You start to see what you want to see, and some of the shock value of the more extreme elements become dulled. In other words, you tend to normalize it. While the concept undoubtedly has modern touches (as a 21st car should), at its core it's still a retro design.

Do you need someone to help you write the book?

I would ask him how does it feel to be a god to so many people on camaroz28.com.

I know that sounds pretty harsh, but he is worshipped like an idol on here. I wouldn't ask him anything if I saw him. I would simply express my satisfaction with the work done on the 4th gen f-bodies, and tell him I hope it will continue on with the 5th gen, and that I am glad to see it is coming back.

I know what you mean. The car is retro. Maybe not as retro as the Mustang, but it is retro. The rest of the world seems to see it as it is, but some internet patrons around here do not. Good luck convincing the rest of the world it isn't retro.

Heritage and futuristic are terms used to avoid calling it retro.

Case in point:

I would do the same as Gold Rush. Pick his brain about the Pontiac side of things. See if theres any "Faith" needed to be kept for us Firebird people

If the 4th gen never existed, people wouldn't say it is retro. 3rd & 4th gen are a different body style than the 1st and second. The new camaro is more like a 1st gen Camaro or modern mustang as far as body style goes.

It is a modern Camaro with a trunk instead of hatch, plain and simple.

Yeah, well, there is a 3rd and a 4th gen, and the car is pretty retro.

I bet the rest of the automotive press is going to see it as retro, plain and simple.

The 5th gen is a design which is obviously inspired by a '69 Camaro. If that makes it retro, so be it. I don't care. It is a futuristic-looking car regardless of where they got their ideas. It's also a freakin' awesome looking car, and I want as many of them in my possession as I can possibly get.

Wah wah, it's retro, wah wah. SO WHAT?!

It looks like a modern retro to me, but futuristic?? Nah. It does not push the envelope nearly that much design wise.

He asked too many questions....and the last we saw, there was a fleet of black suburbans following him!!!

Seriously, had a great time talking with him......he's in Cancun at his Uncle's wedding...I'm sure he'll be back soon to tell you all of the stuff I managed to 'spill' after a beer or 27..........
