Pretty much everyone at Chevy will tell you Camaro will soon be back, as long as there isn't a microphone or video camera nearby, so it's not really much of a secret anymore.

The only question is when and on what, that's all.

given the choices, I would go with the GTO hands down.

A black one

BTW, I would probably opt for something more practical too, if I had an '08 in the garage.
That's why the thread was titled "IF you had the cash"

Well beings you didnt get to detailed on the topic.
If I was going for straightline perf. I would with out a doubt get the MACH1.If I was out to get some CAT from a chick it would be G35.If I was wanting a roadgoing car with some autocross tossed in I'd go for the GTO.If I was wanting to commit suicide I pick the SS and drive it off a cliff to put IT and myself out of our misory!

I would just stick to my curent Camaro. I love it and I am going to keep it. The only case if I ever buy a new sports car will be if the 5th Gen Camaro would come back alive and strong. (Not that will give up the one I have now.)

anyone who didn't pick the G35 really makes me wonder

import or not, the G35 is exactly what the camaro was 30 years ago.. the parralels in design ideology are striking, not to mention the looks

the GTO, IMHO is a pretty pathetic incarnation of that name tag... it's not an original design, it doesnt look half as good as the GTO concept from a few years back, and it isn't a very strong performer

The GTO and G35 cost about the same are both 2+2 coupes and are both good looking with slightly conservative styling (they no WS6 ) both have about the same amount of luxury, BUT the GTO has an LS1 and the G35 has a V6

What is there to be confused about???

NOTA. Why have two 4-passenger cars that are substantially similar?

Either 08 Viper or 08 Z06, unless something better comes along, or I succumb to the "needta getta old car" syndrome again.
