If the all new Silverado is coming out in '05 where are the spy shots, and why is there almost no leaked info?

Chevy Colbalt, Ford Futura, Mercury Montego & the restyled Lincoln will all be out in just 10 months, and there's no spy shots of them either, so don't panic.

Good call...I'm VERY curious to see what the new Silverado looks like. But when it comes to trucks, stuff like payload and drivetrain capability play just as big a role. I'm wondering if that pickup concept Chevy showed on last year's auto show circuit is a big styling clue? (The name escapes me right now...)

Cheyenne was the name of the concept. I didn't like the looks of it that much, or the IRS it had. It's a freakin truck, give it a live axle out back and save the $$$.

IMHO the Cheyenne concept was absolutely gorgeous. I had a 78 K5 Blazer and the Cheyenne's sculpted sides and big wheelhouses brought back fond memories of running roughshod over 14" of new Colorado snow

I found the Cheyenne to be very ugly, even moreso than the current Silverado. Cheyenne was too rounded, too bland, too neutered-looking to compete in the testosterone-driven truck market.

Who said the all new GMT800 replacement was coming out as an '05 MY product? Or even '05 CY?

Ya, the 05 timeframe had me raise an eyebrow here too... It'd be a pretty short run for the current truck (99-04), even though Dodge and Ford have come out with all-new models.

For those who say "well, GM is never gonna compete without a new truck", well, Ford did it from 99-04, without even giving the F150 a styling upgrade... Dodge did it from 99-03, same thing no styling update for RAM, and even older styling than the Ford...)

Add to that the recent styling freshening for the Chevy and GMC trucks, and it makes 2005 (especially MY2005) a little hard to buy into... but I have no info to the contrary... just personal opinion.

If "mid-run" facelift is the norm we'd be looking for an '07 MY.
