Im not saying the Nissan 6v is the same as an LT1 v8 but one cant argue that the performance of many v6s are coming close to the performance of a v8 ten years ago. One could argue that the V8's performance has also signifantly improved over the last ten years as well.

The reallity is that these new v6's in a light and smaller chassis perform as well as a v8 sports coupe did 10 years ago. While there's "No Replacement for Displacement" the performance of the new-breed small engines have made huge leaps over the last 10 years.

Personally none of these v6 engine's sound as good, have the torq and have the incredible powerband of a Chevy 350 small block V8

The performance of the V8 has improved ever since EFI in 86. I was talking to my friend that has a 5.0 and he said that the performance sector for the 5.0 wasnt nearly as big as the 350 aftermarket until EFI in 86. Like in 64 with the GTO, I think that since EFI, on Camaros and Mustangs, the hp wars have been caring on.

All I have to saw about the IRS in a Camaro or any RWD car, other then Corvette, is I really hope someone makes a 12 bolt or something I can put in to replace it. Save the IRS for the high end sports cars and the FWD cars.
