Identify this Mercury concept.

Here's something for you. On this picture is a board displaying an unidentified 2006 Mercury concept that's going to be at NAIAS. It's obviously a sports coupe. And conditions permitting, it'll be headed to market.

What is it?

It's got that back roof line similar to current Mustang, and it also has a side scoop at the front it seems, going down the front fender.

I dont know, but those wheels are waaay too big! Just a picture, but in scale they would be about 30" wheels.

If you look closely the Mercury logo and exhaust outlets are not centered on the rear. Strange...

Looks like a Cougar to me...which would make sense sine it is Mercury's #1 brand name.

Looks like the new Mustang.

I'd say it's a new Cougar. There have been a lot of rumors that the Cougar is going back to the Mustang platform like it was in the good old days (can you tell I own a '69 Cougar?) and that looks like what that is.

Cool. :-D

Anyone know what exactly the Mercury logo is suppose to be? I was just thinking about it today and I've never quite figured it out after seeing it for so many years. I've always thought the bars were bars of light or something. Whatever it is, it still looks very contemporary.
