Unhappy I think I'm gonna' be sick........

.....I haven't posted on the SS concept yet.........Mom always said...."If you can't say something nice, don't ...."....actually, I promised I would wait until Chicago to see it in person......(even though it is a direct ripoff of the Ferrari 550 Maranello)

Remember my rants on corporate design? It truly is a cancer.....look at this guy (is that Waggoner (sp?)??!!) getting all cozy with it's transplantation onto the SS concept...... .....looks all proud of himself don't he??

It was NOT on the sketches and now it finds it's ugly damned way onto this concept.......I think I'm gonna' hurl...........(and I thought it was this flu I've been suffering through this weekend)

The SS concept has a few things I liked and a lot I thought was just plain awkward......it reminds me of more of a Chevelle than a Camaro though.....that and I'm really disappointed that Brian Nesbitt was not the designer, but it was the same guy (with the German sounding last name) that did the Solstice (at least I think it's the same dude)..............let's meet in Chicago and I'll see if the stomach pains return.........

Damn thats harsh. I was thinking the same thing though about the SS / Marenello similarities. But I like the Marenello. And Actually I may like the looks of the SS more than the Marenello. I'd hate to see how you would react if they announced that the SS is the next Camaro

That's our man Wayne Cherry stroking our beloved grill spear. Is there anyone who really likes that design element?

I think the rear fascia, with the 4 round tail lights has alot of potential. But the front leaves me cold. They went way over the top with that retro fat fendered look. The front headlights lack any appreciable character that I can see. I really, really hope that the SSR doesn't provide the design cues for future Chevys.

All in all ....it's pretty much what I expected. The reason I may be disappointed was because of all the pre-show hoopla that this may embody the elements of a future Camaro.

If Chevy wants to make a sedan out of the SS...that's one thing. Just DON'T tell me that this is where the Camaro will come from.

Doug, when I see you in Chicago...we'll have time to commiserate.

Oh yeah. It sure is stupid for a designer to include elements that remind people of the world's most revered cars.

I'll take it with or without the grille bar.(but keep the bowtie) That ride kicks butt ! and its a five passenger four door sedan. if it looks that good in pictures...I'd love to see it for real.

I agree with Doug Harden. Look at that thing! It looks like a lame attempt at a 4-door family ferrari dune-buggy. Yeah, sign me up!

Tough crowd here, huh?

Blaming Wayne Cherry for that chrome spear is unfair, because it isn't his idea. That edit came from a bit higher in the food chain.

Overall, I think the car looks pretty good, though a bit retro. I sat on the fence on the Belair instead of piling on the car along with everyone else. However, after seeing it in person, it's a very good looking car that needs nothing more than a new nose & headlights.

I'll sit this one out till I see it in person as well. But I'll say I already think the interior is great!

I saw Bel Air last year at the Cleveland show... I still didn't like it in person... I thought it was pretty boring, visually...

If it were to make it into the Chevy line up, I'd see it fitting in as a Malibu replacement at best. (Visually speaking)

It just looked so bland to me...

I was interested in hearing your impressions of the BelAir after finally seeing it in the flesh.

I will say this though, I like the SS better than the Bel Air.

Heck just from the pictures I like the thing. And I when I look at it, I think Camaro. A lot of the design cue's remind me of Camaro. It's kind of like a mix of a 98+ 4th gen with a 2nd gen.

With the fact that the rear doors extend into the real wheel well humps, I could easily see this thing as 2 door, in fact in some of the pics it really looks like a 2 door.

IMHO it's one of the most impressive concepts I've seen from Chevy in a long time.

Angry They're not soft drinks. They should look different, not come in small, med, large

Corporate styling blows. Why do they all have to have the same STUPID design elements? Aren't the EMBLEMS supposed to tell us what kind of car it is? Isn't the giant gold bow tie enough? Why not extend the stupid bar all the way around the car, so we know it's a chevy from every angle!

Now, every potentially great looking chevy will be marred by a chrome mustache required by some bozo in upper management. I shudder to think what the C6 will look like.

The SS is actually growing on me. Watch Chevrolet will announce its going into production and base price it at the $45K+ level.
