I signed the GM bailout form wasnt easy for me

I just sent off the petition for GM loan. Even though I like GM it wasnt easy for me to do.

- I believe in the free market and letting it weed out those who either dont want to produce quality in demand products and services or cant. The management of GM seems to have improved and been replaced over the past few years. The changes I would want to change if my tax dollars are being lent are mostly being taken place. I like that Lutz Welburn, and Scott are involved. They are given more leeway to do what they do best.

- GM started to standardize globalized assets recently. Holden isnt acting as a seperate company anymore. I realize CAFE standards may not let some of the Zeta cars come here but to me the idea of at least considering pulling your best assets from the globe from the get go is more important. Sounds easier than it is to me. GTO was a good example. The gas tank moved to the trunk to reinforce the rear for US rear impact standards. Even after that I dont think it was able to be sold in Canada if that is right?

- The bailout is a loan with interest, not a hand out. This was a huge internal conflict for me. Still is.

- The National Security issue of having a domestic Automanufacturer on US shores such as we did in WWII. I still dont like what the US did to the US Auto company "Bantum" who actually designed the first Jeep called the BRC. Even with that, Ford and Willeys mass produced the GPW Jeeps of the Bantum design on the scale that was needed in WWII.

Still I dont like the precident this says. I dont like that Mayor Nutter of Phillidelphia came on the news today asking for Federal money for his city. He has also said he needs the money to invest and put people to work. He is asking to borrow money to simply spend it, and encouraging other mayors do do the same. He is citing everyone else, the banks and all are getting bailed out why not him. GM is the only group that has asked that I would actually want lent to and actually had a legit case to me. Thanks for reading
