I just drove an 2006 M5

Though I would share...I can only say one thing....What a beast! The M5 does everything you could ever want. From the sound of the exhaust to the stitching on the steering wheel every detail is covered. The M5 has the perfect blend of luxury/sport and it is very docile for having 500hp. I can't say I have driven anything like it.

Best overall car inthe world right now in my opinion...sure there are better cars, better sports cars, better sedans, but nothing and I mean NOTHING offers the versatility and performance of the M5 in one single package.

You hit it right on the nose. The only thing I can say negative is the iDrive is hard to use.

I forgot to mention the one of the coolest things about the M5 are the active seats. When you fly into a turn the seat bolster actually pushes you on the opposite side to hold you in (example if you are making a hard right the left bolster pushes you in!!!).

Re: I just drove an 2006 M5

Saw a new one on the road a couple of weeks back. I almost didn't recognize it because of all the dirt and salt from the road covering it, but i was able to recognize and see it was no ordinary 5-series very quickly. Shame it had to be subjected to such elements, but i applaud the owner for driving it year round.

It's a very nice car. Just yesterday, i saw the previous generation one, and that too was nice.

From what I have seen of it, and read about it, it is definetly an awesome car. Wish I was fortunate enough to get a ride in one, let alone drive one.

I really love BMWs.

It's just the prices they charge I hate.

Performance-wise it may be great...but I gotta say, I've always hated Beamer styling. The old ones were even better than what they have out now, imo.

Give me an STS-V any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

An M5 would be damn near the perfect car.

At least until the warranty ran out
