I drove an RS/SS this weekend...

The Inferno Orange RS/SS my CFO ordered came in late last week, and he brought it over this weekend.... threw me the keys and sent me on a coffee run I was never more happy to make.

I drove a total of 10 miles maybe from the house to McDonald's and back, and I think EVERYONE was doing something when they saw the car.

Some guy in a Ford Explorer passing me in the opposite direction on my road just about fell out of his car at 45mph as he leaned out the window with a HUGE grin and pumping his fist up and down and giving the thumbs up.

Countless people pointing and rubbernecking.

Several honks and thumbs up.

I noticed a lot of cars swerving slightly as I passed, must have distracted them.

I actually had one guy pull off the road in front of me, then get back in behind me after letting me pass, must have wanted to see the back too, I guess.

At McD's, some nice people in a Silverado were asking me about the car... said "Is that the first new Camaro?!?!?!?"

I have to tell you, I felt like a damn rock star in this thing.

Where are the pics

The car defiantly stands out. This will be a huge hit for Chevy.

Drive was VERY smooth... and I went over some road construction too, so it was a bit rough, I expected it to be a bit more harsh, especially in an SS... but it was very nice.

It didnt feel "fat in the ***" like my 04 GTO did... power was smooth and seemless. (Car is a 6-speed)

Leg room was perfect, and I am 6'3" or so, and have long legs.

The interior was very comfortable. It was an all-black leather interior. Seats were great. Not sure how I feel about the dash. It wasn't as bad as I thought it could be, but it was still..... I dunno... a little odd, I guess, but it wasn't a put-off.

There's a bit of a bad blind spot, I noticed though...

The exhaust note was very nice and also louder and more aggressive then I expected for a factory system. Thumbs up for this as well.

On a side note...I didn't realize the SS scoop on the front was a fake scoop before.

How was the view out of the windshield, I keep reading that its like looking through a slot (figuratively of course)?

and hows the view over the hood? I know when I got my 02 GT the scoop drove me crazy for awhile until I learned to ignore it and when I got my 07 GT the long flat nose createda few close shaves when parking up to a wall or barrier?

Nothing struck me as odd at all... was a non-existant issue to me.

I remember beign able to see a bit of the oraneg paint over the hood looking out, but again, nothing seemed odd, or awkward at all.

lol. Ya, I suppose to a degree every car today is, but I would actually say there is some not-so-smooth power delivery in some modern cars with an automatic transmission. In fact, that's one thing I actually dislike about autos with 6 or 7 gears... feels like they are shifting way to much, IMO.

I am pretty sure he was referring to that all 5th Gens are 6 speeds . Some auto some manual, but all 6spds .

Glad you enjoyed the drive, I can't wait untill I get a chance .
