Ya, I couldn't believe that made production either. God awful. I figured that was just on the display vehicles when it was being introduced so people could easily see what was new. I just rolled my eyes when I saw then hitting the lots with the big silly looking decals.

Although , Mustang has seemed to get away with having " M U S T A N G" across the bottom of it for a long time in similar fashion, with surprisingly few complaints.

I know, I know, not the same thing. Then again, it kind of is..

Embarrassing?

Seems like a lot of hybrid owners are quite happy to announce that their car is a hybrid. Of course, if I were an Escalade (or other lux SUV) driver, I might be embarrassed for spending $60k on an SUV...

It looks like a bad case of Prius envy to me. Whats next, Z06 like fender badges that list the MPG instead of HP. There are so many hybrid stickers and badges on the new Escalade it is ridiculous.

Considering how many idiots run around with fender badges proclaiming the size of their wheels, I think you may have identified a great new market for an enthusiastic entrepreneur!

If you were buying an Escalade Hybrid you'd be spending a good deal more than that. It starts at $71,685

Stickers might be a good idea. It keeps the Hippies from burning the SUV to the ground.

I'm not a big fan of it, but I think GM's marketing may have made the correct move on this. A *lot* of hybrid owners are concerned with image as well as their actual fuel efficiency and low emissions. I can see a bunch of Hollywood type people loving a car this expressive about how 'green' they are. I don't think anyone who would be in the market to buy one (if you have $71k to spend on a hybrid, you aren't getting one for the fuel savings!) would be turned off by the stickers. I bet they would prefer them!

However, I don't have the mentality (or the pocketbook) that they do, so I could be wrong

That isn't the only place.

Look on the upper left on the rear window. It has the Hybrid logo up there in gray.

I saw one on the road this morning with that sticker, which I hadn't noticed before.

You'd be surprised to see how many people want the general population to know they're driving a hybrid.

I have to agree that it seems a significant portion of buyers want to advertise their hybrid status.

I think also this is probably aimed at helping put the word Hybrid with GM vehicles. Free advertising rarely hurts.

I actually have ZERO problem with 'advertising' it's a hybrid... IMHO, there's no difference between that and putting a "427" badge or a "V8" badge or a "5.7 TUNED PORT INJECTION" badge on a car.

........... it's just the fact that these gigantic HYBRID decals are incredibly tacky looking.
