I couldnt hold out for GM to bring something I want to market.

I have been seriously wanting to get my hands on the upcoming GTO. I have been payment free from my 2001 Camaro SS for a while and was saving for a good down payment for the GTO. I drove buy the dealer complex buy my house when I saw a Electron Blue 2002 Corvette Z06. I stopped in to take a peek and my buddie BOB who is the finance manager there asked me if I wanted to take it for a spin. It was a heavyly driven demo. (The GM used it as his personal car thru the summer) It had 5k on the odometer. It had a sticker of 50 grand and change. I fell in love with it after the second powershift. I just didnt want to afford the the type of payment that 12 grand down on a 50 grand car would bring me. Well, I go to tell my buddie that I loved the car but I just cant justify a 800 dollar payment. He said you can have it for 37,500 bucks . Well I now have a 2002 Electron Blu Corvette Z06 next to my Turbo Terror SS Camaro, AMC AMX and my Dode Decrepid. Who says performance is dead at GM. We have Corvette, SSR(i kinda like it), GTO, CTSV, XLR, and soon a Solstice based trio of cars. We will have RWD performance from 22k to 80k. It keeps looking better every day.

Im getting the the urge to make it go faster........ I was thinking about turbo, but I want the cat to handle well, and put the power down smooth. It looks like it will be the Magnuson blower kit. Is it a Roots or a Screw. MTI Advertises it as a Screw but I thought Magnusson made roots type blowers. I know they are both similar PDB's.

I really can't afford the Z06, but I am willing to sacrafice for a while to own it. No more night clubs and ill be doing all my shopping at Sams club for a few months. I love the car more and more everyday.

The Turbo SS is going together as we speak. The motor just went in last night and the stock 10bolt has been removed. I have a 12 bolt with 355s ready to go in. The turbo kit is a modified turbo tec kit with a ball bearing t-76/Q trim turbo. I have had the motor for the car for a while. I went with an Iron block (small bore) tapped the block for larger head studs and went with a 0-ring/ copper head gasket. I also o-ringed the intake and exst. ports. I am using a hogged out LPE intake. If this thing doesnt hold a ton of boost nothing will :-) Its a 385 cid motor with billet main caps and forged to ****. I am runing to intake Walboro pumps and I have an inline bosch if needed. I am using the stock computer for now but I think im going to go with the FAST stand alone. I will convert from a t56 to a turbo 400 at the same time i ad the FAST. Wish me luck

Think it's fantastic you bought your Z06 (you got an excellent color ).

I'm sitting out for a GTO or Mustang myself. Ford doesn't have a good record lately with 1st year cars, and I actually drove a Monaro, so I'll give the edge to the Monaro based GTO for now.

But, if Chevy makes an announcement on Camaro soon, I may postpone my purchase for a short time.

However if the El Camino returns, my '97 Z goes into storage, the wife gets a used FWD car, and I'll sell blood get ahold of a Camino!

Now that I have the Z06 and my Camaro is close to ripping up the road and killing Imports and Pukestangs. I don't think the GTO is in my future. I haver way to many Toys. My next car might be a CTSv. It is more of a "everyday" car. Or If the SS concept turns out to be more than just a concept. I still am in love with the Solstice coupes lines. If it only had a V8
