I am so tired of all this

As I said in the subject line, I am so tired of having faith and all that crap. I am so sick of being left in the dark and trying to figure out riddles while other car companies are comming out with awesome cars. I dont care anymore

Another thing that erks me is all this crap I hear about how fast GM can turn a "thought" into an actual car. well then.....when do they plan on using it?

with the current gas prices, in california they are at $2.33/2.43/2.53 (I actually saw the prices at $2.44/2.54/2.64 at 2 stations today), do you believe that a new v8 camaro will attract a lot of buyers, other than the hardcore loyalist? Is GM going to start making 4 cyl. camaros again?

and another thing....why the hell is the colorado so damn expensive? Is GM getting out of the small truck market? A base s10 one could get for what, 11 grand?

the more I think about it, GM seems to be the same old GM. While I agree they have changed things around with caddy, GM still seems like a huge aircraft carrier trying to turn 180 degrees, while everyone else has already made that turn and heading in the direction their customers want at full speed.

my2003 trailblazer's SES just came on......my new $1200 2month old fridge just stopped working (I know GM has somthing to do with that!)
Where's my dog?!?!?! I need to kick something!!!
I am tired and frustrated and I just needed to vent.

where's my beer? BAH!!!! I cant even get a cold beer!!

I can honestly say that when i read this I started laughing outloud. On a serious note, I do have to agree with you about being very frustrated with the current state of GM. I think the number one thing they do that frustrates me is how long it takes them to get a car from concept to showrooms. I mean look at the Solstice and SSR. We first saw the SSR concept in I believe 2001. By the time they are getting these things to showrooms noone cares anymore and the rest of the automotive industry has already moved on. I think Guion's post on "GM needs to get there act together quickly" sums up one of GM's major problems right now. Take a look at some of the auto makers. We just recently heard that the Charger was a go and they are already saying that they are going to be on the showrooms next summers. I sure with the General could do this.

I don't remember for sure, but I think there was a 4 cylinder camaro early in the 3rd gen.

yeah, the infamous Iron Duke 4cyl ran from 82-84.

No we wont see 4cy camaros, but maybe the sale of more fuel friendly, DOD equpied 6 and 8 cyls.

I dont think its anything about performance, but its not the 60's anymore. Yeah, gas prices are up, but I dont think that we will take this for too long. Someone is gunna get pissed, prices will come down.
The ability of a the 3.9 DOD to get upwards of mid 30's or more mpg will be great. I think that a 3.9 DOD and a 5.3 DOD would be great features of the Camaro to show that its not all about performance. That would be something that the Mustang doesnt have. Be able to make 50hp more, and get much better gas milage then the V6 mustang would be a GREAT selling point. It will still give you the power, and the fuel economy.

ya, having DOD really would be a win-win situation. Good for the base and SS models definately (assuming SS would be mid level Camaro). But should it still be on the Z28? maybe as an option?

Nah, the Z28 should be left alone. DOD be left for V6 and mid level V8.

Why shouldn't the Z28 get DOD? I'm a firm believer in making the best product you can. DOD makes it a better product.

No reason you can't have your cake and eat some of it too.

I agree, but there is one sticking point with DOD... the sound at idle is supposedly bad (considering it is a muscle car) because of only firing on 4 cylinders... not very muscular.

I think that is the lone flaw, really.... but it is important in this application.

In a classic GM move, they've been bragging about DOD for almost 3 years but guess who gets it to market first? DCX in the Hemi 300C.....and they didn't really publicize it, but its in there, under a different name.

Exact same tech, collapsable lifters.

I currently own six vehicles. Five of the six are V8's. While the gas prices are hitting me a little hard... I have no plans of trading those in for economy cars.

Because if the Z28 is going to be like the Z06, you dont want anything that would restrict the reving ability or would you really care about fuel economy to a point.

And GM did DOD back in the 80's. DCX's MDS system is the 2nd generation of M-B cylinder deactivation.

I stand corrected, thank you. I did not remember those. But I do agree with the z28 or ss not having dod and it should be for entry and mid level camaro's. Becuase the "special" camaro's wont sell as many as the bread and butter ones so leave dod to those.
