I have a little bit more faith than I did, I still think GM was stupid for the way they handled the situation but things were done we move on.

Re: A hushed silence...

My faith is being tested, but I begin to care less more and more every day. Third gens are looking better to me every day, as are Solstices. I REALLY WANT A SOLSTICE COUPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry for the caps, but I am hoping someone, somewhere in GM is reading that. When I begin selling Solstices this fall, it is going to be very, VERY hard to not give the GP to my fiance, keep her Probe as a winter beater and buy a Solstice. The thoughts of a clean $10k third gen and keeping my GP are what I hope will keep that idea aside, at least for now

Unhappy Re: A hushed silence...

Every time I see a new mustang, I just grit my teeth and wave my fist.

Re: A hushed silence...

Let me give you guys a little jerky to chew on regarding "faith", what is in the pipes, and when it can appear...

I just read a great book that has huge amounts of data about the development of the DC2 Mustang.
We thought we had a scoop on it. We were "in the know" as early as fall of '03.
Boy we were the chit - us guys on the internet, with our "insiders".
Myself included because I knew of some parts and whatnots going into production. Well....

Remember the two cars that were shown at the 2004 NAIAS? The red convertible and the gray GT coupe? Those were the "test mules", concept cars that were to show us what might be coming, right?
WRONG.
Those two cars were actually pre-production cars that were taken to a specialty shop to be styled/designed specifically for NAIAS.
THAT'S RIGHT - Ford went BACKWARDS with them! From production back to show-car.
The production unit was pretty much set as early as 2001!!!
There are concept photos in the book starting in 1999, and by 2001 the design was pretty much frozen, with the exception of issues found during production/tooling processes. The big "hitch" was the closing of DAP and movement to the new Auto Alliance Facility - that had to be tooled-up, training had to be done, testing, etc. These things drove the schedule more than the development of the car. The "new" Mustang already had over 2-million test miles on it before the NAIAS show.

Now, knowing that little dab of trivia, someone explain to me again about "faith"?
No evidence? No leaks? No word? No Problem.

My hat is off big-time to the folks in Team Mustang for keeping the wraps on things as long as they did. That must be one of the best-kept automotive secrets ever IMO.

He may no longer post here, but that doesn't mean he stopped caring about us.

Re: A hushed silence...

Honestly, I believe that this site has a very high "profile" if you will, and those who might cause him grief from the inside, know to look here first.......not that he has EVER done anything to violate GM policy, but just being here and getting hammered day in and day out for info and the anti-GM attitude of a few on here was enough to cause him to lay low and just move on.

It isn't worth the hassle or the grief......especially since we ALL are just repeating ourselves for the last year and the next few months or so.

He's said all that he can...100 times
