HRT 427
With the recent announcement that the HRT 427 is confirmed for production, we must now ensure that all HSV Retailers have a clear understanding of the ordering procedure on this vehicle. It is vital that you communicate with your customers the exciting specifications of this unique Road Car.
The HRT 427 will offer a unique level of standard performance and commitment, including many “unique” components unseen on any Australian production car before.
The HRT 427 with standard 7 litre power unit, LS6 heads, and unique dry sump system will be matched in “talent” by the chassis dynamics, braking system and overall drivability to ensure that your customers will receive a truly unique product.
Please note: The specification sheet attached to this communication does outline the intended standard road going specification of HRT 427 and as seen on the original concept car at the Sydney Motor Show in 2002 the open carbon fiber C5R intake Manifold – and componentry will be offered as a “TRACK PACK OPTION” only, for even greater levels of performance.
The “Track Pack Option” is just that and the track only componentry is not intended and cannot be used for road usage.
We recently indicated that the recommended retail price would be approximately $215,000. It is our intention to commence vehicle production in the 4th quarter of 2003; with around 10 units this year and the additional 40 units for build in 2004. Therefore the total production of the HRT 427 for Australia and New Zealand will be 50 units only. These 50 vehicles will be built to road-registered specification.
Options will include – sound system, and air conditioning, along with “track pack” options including the C5R intake manifold and componentry. Pricing on these options will be advised as soon as possible. Two colors will be available for HRT 427 – Sting Red and Phantom Black
In order to secure one of the 50 vehicles, each customer will be required to lodge a deposit of $20,000 with their nominated HSV Retail Outlet.
Customers who have already placed a deposit of a lesser amount will be required to increase their deposit to $20,000.
The Retail Outlet will then supply to HSV a copy of the retail order, signed by the customer, along with proof of deposit (copy of the cheque, cash receipt, credit card transaction, etc.) and a photocopy of the customers drivers license, including all customer contact details i.e., address and telephone numbers.
The paperwork for each order should be returned by fax to HSV on (03) 9265 9555 and marked attention Darren Bowler, by no later than 5pm Friday March 21st, 2003. (please use attached form).
Orders will then be reconciled against the current expressions of interest. This will be done in priority order, based on the original date received.
The first 50 orders that are received at HSV – with completed paperwork and receipts – will be allocated vehicles. Shortly thereafter we will advise the status of the order bank.
Until we have determined the ‘Final 50’ we would strongly suggest you do not guarantee supply. Of course, any funds given to you by potential customers would be fully refundable, subject to vehicle supply.
Please note that priority will be given to those people who have already placed an expression of interest with a deposit paid and, with that in mind, we would not advise any additional orders are taken at this time.
HSV recommend that you contact you prospective owners immediately to advise them of this procedure, ensuring that you first contact clients who have already paid a deposit.
