redzed - Thanks for the compliments.

The wheels are Torq Thrust II's. I fell in love with them right before they REALLY got popular. They're (and many copy cats) are on almost everything now in car enthusiast magazines. Don't really see them too often on 80's g-bodies though....that's good for me.

Even if the Monte doesn't quite look as good as the Camaro (both delicious IMO ), it'll still take the f-body on the track. Though one is near stock and the other....well... isn't.

Wow....you really made me see something redzed. I'll have a next-to last year of the Monte (though production ceased in the fall of 87 as "88" models), last year Camaro, and soon a last year Impala. Interesting....

Well its to early for me to tell just yet, I probably won't be ready to buy another car until 2006. I am not sure about an 5th Gen. F-Body. I know the perfromance should be top notch on a new F-Body so I guess its going to come down to which way they go on styling.

If affordable enough I might go with a CTSv or a RWD ImpalaSS if it comes to be. Or maybe a V8 Holden if they start selling them over here. A Ute SS would be awesome

So I'll be waiting and watching to see what GM is going to do. If by '06-'07 there is nothing new out desireable, I might go with finding a used '02 35th Anniversary Edition SS or possiblily a '02 Z06?

You probably could have guessed you were going to get a reply from someone over 40 on this Here's a word from a wise old man... don't deny yourself of driving a hot rod just because of age!

I'm one of those over 40 guys that still buys muscle cars. For me it was like this: in my very early 20's, I was basically poor and I managed to scrape up just enough money to buy a used 73 Trans Am. I even traded it for a 77 Trans Am a few years later and had that until I went broke. Then I got married and for the next 15 years, it was family sedans and mini-vans. By the time I was in my late 30's, I decide it was time to get back to having fun while driving. I'm still having fun

Who can say? Nobody here really has any idea what the 5th gen will be like. I'd never plan on buying anything (especially a car) sight unseen.

However, if I was in the market today or in the near future, my top pick would be the 2004 Mustang if it is reasonably close to the concept. My second choice would be the 350Z, which would be my first import ever. At this point I have no interest at all in purchasing the phony new "GTO" or any other GM product.

I will definitely not be getting rid or trading my 98 Z for any reasonn. I have put way too much money and time into it, and I feel like I will take it to my grave. Depending on where I am at financially in a few years and what my future looks like, I may buy one for more of a daily driver, but who can tell right now.

No way I'd give up the LT1 car for a 5th gen. I'm one of those that spent way too much cash on the LT1 car to trade it in. I might give up something else. I'm really into the AWD turbo thing. The 5th gen would have to be totally, insanely, awesome for me to give up the AWD car I ave for it, seeing as the LT1 car is still good to go.
