How fast would an LS2 Colorado SS be?

Certainly faster than a TBSS, GTO, SSR, CTSv('06).

But would an LS2 overpower the Colorado's humble chassis?

Re: How fast would an LS2 Colorado SS be?

Regular cab, Rwd, 6spd, 390hp/405lbft Ls2......i'd say low 13's. Current regular cabs Rwd colorado's are in the 3300-3350lb range, and considering that the 4700lb SSR is good for 13.9's or high 13's, i figured a lighter truck like the Colorado would be good for 13.3's or so. Even with a 6spd and Ls2, a reg cab 2wd Colorado should still come in under 3500lbs.

Given that power to weight ratio, low 13's should be well within reach. That's assuming the chassis, suspension, rear end, etc... is all built to handle/accept the Ls2. Traction would probably be a challenge given the weight, and the lightness of the rear/bed.

Re: How fast would an LS2 Colorado SS be?

SSR + LS2 + 4700lbs.= 13.9 1/4mi.

Colorado + LS2 + 3300lbs. =

I'd say the Colorado SS in reg cab trim would be faster than an SRT-10 RAM and about $20,000 cheaper

Make the LS2 SS package a $4000 option on top of a ZQ8 and Chevy will sell these trucks faster than they can make them. All the great press would probably create a "halo effect" on the entire Colorado line boosting sales of all models.

Will there be an all wheel drive option?

Seems like a no-brainer when you put it that way

Don't know when you'll be able to buy one, but at least one is running around Warren.

Try as I might, I just can't care about go-fast trucks....

3300lbs and 400 flywheel hp should be in the 12s.

The Colorado needs more than the I5 it has to compete. And the H3 is getting a alpha version so my guess is whatever the alpha H3 has the Colorado will sport as well.

Somehow I doubt the truck will stay at 3300 lbs if it ever got an ls2(unlikely), unless Chevy wants to do alot of warranty work on busted up parts.
