How come there are no magazine tests yet for the GTO

Thought there would be some test articles already for the GTO. How come there are no tests or articles on the GTO yet?

Likely to be in November car magazines.

I agree with GuionM.. you can't test something that really isn't built. I understand that the first GTO's will hit the US shores in December but the rags will get their hands on a few real soon.

That makes sense! I thought they were coming out sooner than December.

1st batch already arrived here about a month ago (someone posted a trailer with 1 in each color). Once GM finishes ringing them out, at least a few will probally end up in the press pool. It takes at least a couple of months for an article to show up in a mag.

I also believe these cars will be on the street before December.

All the car makers put gag orders on magazines as a condition of providing them access to test vehicles. This allows the manufacturers to time the release of the magazines' articles to match vehicle introductions and other marketing initiatives.

It's quite likely many tests have already been conducted, but are sitting on a hard drive somewhere waiting for the magic date to come around when they can be published.

good news if it will show up before December.. but I thought the GTOs on the trailer in the pics from the LS1.com member were to be shown at gatherings i.e. Woodward and the All Pontiac show and were vehicles only for GM.. I didn't think the mags would get the same cars... didn't the steering wheel have a Holden logo on it? if so then how complete were they to the real finished product?

Most monthy magazines are just now posting stories from June and July. Just give them time to get their hands on them.

I'm ready for some real numbers myself. I want to see what the GTO is really capable of. I don't think it'll dissapoint, and am thinking the numbers will be real good.

The next few months should be interesting. The GTO hits the street, the production Mustang will be shown as well as the official HP/Tq numbers and finishing touches, and the c6 will be shown as well.
