Next thing you know they will be saying "Every Mustang has Four wheels"...

I hate when people state the obvious and use it a promotional tool....

ha ha, yeah...i remember when the new f-150 commercials came out, one of them said "only ford can make an f-150 this good"

well, no s**t sherlock! And only chevy can make a silverado!

 

I think the underlying meaning of the comercial is that "There is only one Mustang"...

Kind of like saying no other car in it's class compares to it.

I don't see what the big deal is... they are proud of their Pony Car... something I think we all wish more poeple did about our (currently) defunct pony cars.

I see Branden's point. I get what Ford is trying to say but ultimately its just stupid. I guess figuratively they are saying others tried to immitate but failed.

 

If RP came out going... "Only Chevrolet can make a Camaro" I think we all would be trying to see what else is in those cigarettes he smokes....

And I'll say "Only Chevrolet can make a Corvette"... who else has the heritage, mystique, power, and performance?

T-Bird tried to be a Corvette way back in the 50's, then it became a family car for most of it's life.


Now Ford says this about Mustang... hey, I don't agree with everything Ford has done with Mustang, but you certainly can't argue that they haven't had success with it... and that they have a VERY loyal following.

Or what about Motorola a couple of years ago using the Stones song ... "You can't always get what you want, but sometimes ... you get what you need."

I guess if they were the only ones making phones it would have been okay ...

 

Some years ago when Corvette was the only 2 seat regular production sports car, Chevrolet used a similar statement regarding the Corvette. Nothing new.

Ford's having some fun now that everyone who challenged them (the Mustang) is in the grave, that's all.

Chevy could use the same track with the Monte Carlo (God forbid) since the Monte was one of the 1st affordable personal luxury coupes, and all it's competitors are gone.

 

Only Pontiac can make the legendary GTO...
